Role
Who you are
- Have a university degree in law (preferred: in a continental European or common law jurisdiction), with a strong preference for expertise in IT law
- Bar exam and/or postgraduate education are an asset
- Significant experience, with at least seven years relevant post-qualification experience, ideally with both law firm and in-house experience advising on technology law issues
- Expertise in, and an intense curiosity for, core legal issues related to technology and innovation law; and a robust technology affinity
- Understanding of cloud-based and AI technologies and corresponding legal issues
- Experience in structuring, drafting and negotiating complex commercial arrangements and technology licensing agreements
- Experience managing global clients and international regulatory issues related to technology
- Fluent in both German and English
What the job involves
- This is a true SME role and will have crucial importance guiding our development teams through the process of bringing new products to market
- Providing day-to-day comprehensive legal guidance and leadership for the product, engineering, and information security teams up to the senior management level on critical questions related to product and technology operations, regulation and commercialization and go-to-market strategies
- Drive successful collaboration with other legal specialists on topics such as commercial software and technology licensing; encryption, sanctions and export controls; patents and other intellectual property rights; corporate development/M&A; international regulation and compliance
- Understanding our underlying technology, competitive landscape and overall business strategy, with subject matter expertise in bringing products to market, including open source licensing and AI
