Role
Who you are
- Experience: 2+ years of experience, ideally with some exposure to marketing, brand, or content work. Interest in lifestyle brands or startups is a plus, not a requirement
- Eye for Storytelling: You have a natural instinct for what makes something compelling. You have a strong sense of taste and curiosity about how to tell a story well, even if you're still developing the craft
- Eager and Detail-Oriented: You're excited to roll up your sleeves and learn by doing. You're organized, follow through on the details, and bring energy to scrappy, fast-moving work
- Plugged Into Culture: You're online and offline in the ways that matter. You notice trends and moments as they happen and have opinions about what's interesting
What the job involves
- We're hiring a Marketing Associate to help coordinate our biggest brand moments, from seasonal campaigns to new store openings, with the autonomy to run key pieces of these projects. We're not here to just sell matcha, we're here to play a real role in culture. That means big ideas, genuine ownership, and the creative courage to make things that have never been done before. If you've ever thought ‘that would never get approved’ - this is the place where it does. Oh, and we have a lot of fun doing it
- Reporting to the US Marketing Manager, this role is 4 days in-person and based out of our Brooklyn, NY office
- Own It, Start to Finish: You'll run point on some of our store openings across planning, execution, and reporting, beginning to end. You’ll partner with our creative, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure we are prepared for opening day and develop the launch plan to make every store a success
- Build the Influencer Program: You'll own our influencer and social tracking work stream across every marketing initiative we run, think new markets, seasonal campaigns, partnerships, brand moments. From who we work with to how we measure it, this one's yours
- Be the Glue on Bigger Moments: From brand partnerships to seasonal launches, you'll coordinate the pieces that make these moments land. You'll support execution across retail, experiential, digital, social, and press, building a feel for how each channel works and how they fit together
- Show Up Where It Counts: You'll be on the ground for openings and events, not just planning from behind a screen, but representing the brand in person, with the trust to make judgment calls without someone hovering
Our take
More people deserve great coffee and Blank Street strives to make this possible. Blank Street’s formula involves technology enabled, micro-footprint brick-and-mortar spaces which operate at a cheap price meaning they can produce excellent coffee, also, at a reasonable price.
What started as one electric-powered coffee cart in 2020 has expanded to over 90 locations across the US and the UK. Blank Street wants to serve coffee cheaper than Starbucks but tastier than Dunkin’ Donuts – its main competitors – and has done so with automation, specifically Eversys espresso makers that can produce 700 drinks an hour.
The chain has received mighty financing too, including from real estate tycoon Tishman Speyer as well as from General Catalyst Partners and Tiger Global Management. This brand is certainly making its mark as its growth has remained at an impressive rate, especially following its entrance into the thriving coffee shop market in the UK.
