Who you are

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in outbound opportunity generation, preferably with enterprise-level SaaS solutions

What the job involves

  • As a Business Development Associate (BDA) at Piano, you will collaborate with our exceptional sales and marketing teams to identify and cultivate new business opportunities for our Analytics product line within the Banking sector across the EMEA & Americas
  • This is an enterprise-level role that requires strategic thinking and a proactive approach to engaging with large accounts. You will play a crucial role in gathering insights and delivering frontline feedback from prospects, thereby contributing significantly to the growth of our pipeline
  • Pipeline Development: Generate early-stage leads through diverse engagement methods, including calls, emails, social media outreach, and follow-up from events
  • Prospect Communication: Conduct discovery calls and qualify prospects to establish meaningful connections with Analytics stakeholders
  • Analytical Expertise: Utilize your understanding of Piano Analytics to illustrate how our solutions address specific business challenges faced by enterprise clients. Assess client interest, commitment levels, and urgency
  • Collaborative Campaigning: Work alongside Sales and Marketing to identify priority campaigns and develop strategic outreach plans to optimize engagement
  • Innovative Outreach: Employ creative strategies to engage clients, including product launches, feature announcements, published research, company news, partnerships, and future initiatives
  • Channel Leverage: Utilize various marketing channels—such as our website, conferences, webinars, and content marketing—to effectively engage prospects throughout their buying journey
  • Networking: Build and nurture your professional network on LinkedIn Sales Navigator to identify ideal prospects, establish trusted relationships, and convert leads into enterprise-level sales
  • Data Management: Use tools such as Salesforce, 6sense, and SalesLoft to target, sequence, and accurately forecast opportunities in the sales pipeline

Our take

Piano helps businesses manage subscription, analytics and content personalization to monetize digital experiences. Previously the focus was on traditional publishers like Wall Street Post and CNBC. However, with the declining value of revenue streams like third party cookies, and new platforms like Substack and Clubhouse siphoning off paying customers, the revenue pinch is being felt by a growing spread of digital services.

Piano’s cloud-based offerings run a broad gamut, including experience personalization, paywall management, and data analytics. These are all supported by integrations with various mainstream third-party tools including Google Ad Manager and Apple Pay. This seemingly fragmented approach has not spread Piano thin, however, and it is consolidating its market lead with strategic acquisitions in the publishing space such as AT Internet and SocialFlow.

Following its impressive level of funding and massive growth in revenue since 2019, Piano is developing its product further to provide further publicity and analytics tools for its customers, particularly in newsletters and socials. It is also likely to continue expanding its market share through acquisitions as it builds outs its end-to-end platform for the publishing industry.
