Who you are
- 2+ years of experience managing sales development teams
- Proven success in building, scaling, and managing high-performing BDR or SDR teams
- Data-driven mindset with a strong command of CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales engagement tools (e.g., Outreach, Salesloft)

What the job involves
- As the Sales Development Manager, you will lead and develop a high-performing team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) responsible for pipeline generation and early-stage customer engagement
- This is a player-coach role with an emphasis on strategy, training, process optimization, and day-to-day team leadership
- You will work closely with sales, marketing, and revenue operations to ensure that BDRs are aligned, enabled, and performing at the highest level
- Hire, onboard, coach, and mentor a team of SDRs focused on qualifying inbound and outbound leads across the AI/MLOps ecosystem
- Set clear team targets and KPIs for outreach, pipeline generation, and opportunity creation; regularly report on team performance and forecast results
- Partner closely with Sales and Marketing to align SDR messaging, campaign strategies, and qualification criteria
- Implement best-in-class sales development practices, tools, and processes to optimize productivity and conversion rates
- Provide ongoing training and feedback on prospecting techniques, objection handling, product knowledge, and CRM hygiene
- Analyze outreach performance (emails, calls, LinkedIn, etc.) to iterate and improve messaging and targeting
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

The tools that Baseten built demolish the need for businesses to hire specialised engineers, utilising the huge strides in artificial intelligence that we’ve seen in the last few years without adding workload to businesses.
With serious funding behind it, Baseten has grown its team by three times year-over-year over the last five years, especially across engineering and marketing. Having hired talent from companies such as GitHub, Google, Uber, Amazon, and Palantir, part of Baseten's focus is on helping companies implement the tools that they have at their disposal, a long-overlooked aspect of machine learning that many businesses have been eager to champion, but uncertain on how to actually use.
Simplifying the complex world of artificial intelligence for business is no mean feat but the three founders, who met whilst working as engineers at Gumroad, have a lot of experience in how to navigate this gap in the market.
