Role
Who you are
- BS in software engineering, electrical engineering or related fields
- 5+ years experience developing firmware for embedded platforms
- Familiarity with a broad range of sensors, peripherals, and communication buses
- Proficient in C or C++
- Experience in RTOS and bare metal platform development
- Experience with MCU driver development for peripherals
- Experience developing with ARM MCUs
- Comfortable with hardware debugging tools and techniques
- Demonstrated experience designing software for complex systems
- Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally with hardware and system architecture teams
- Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols and protocol development
- Experience in test driven development with Python
- Excellent communications skills
What the job involves
- The firmware engineer will join PsiQuantum's Electronic Sub-Systems team to support firmware design, development and maintenance activities
- Design scalable firmware architecture for electronics control systems
- Collaborate with the hardware team in defining PCB architecture, communications buses design, MCUs and components selection
- Bring up and debug new hardware in the lab
- Apply best practices for firmware development, test, and deployment
- Follow modular design principles, ensuring each component of the firmware is functionally independent, reusable, and testable
- Create reports and documentation

While other companies operate in the same sphere, PsiQuantum is unequivocally a leader in its field, founded by world-class academics and raising hundreds of millions in funding to reach unicorn status.
