FinOps Specialist, Blockdaemon

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• 1-2 years of experience in financial operations, FinOps, or similar roles
• Strong understanding of cloud cost management (AWS, GCP, Azure) and SaaS financial tracking
• Excellent analytical and Excel/Google Sheets skills; experience with BI or financial tools a plus (e.g., Tableau, Looker, NetSuite)
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
• Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Blockdaemon is looking for a FinOps Specialist to join our Finance team
• This role is critical in ensuring effective financial planning, cloud cost optimization, vendor management, and operational efficiency across the organization
• The FinOps Specialist will act as a bridge between Finance, Engineering, and Operations to provide transparency, governance, and actionable insights on financial performance
• Manage day-to-day financial operations, including cost allocation, billing, and expense tracking
• Prepare regular financial reports and dashboards for leadership, highlighting spend trends, variances, and opportunities for optimization
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure alignment with organizational goals
• Conduct analysis of cryptocurrency transactions using both open-source and third-party tools
• Provide key information to auditors and implement process improvements to adhere to reporting standards
• Partner with Engineering and DevOps teams to monitor cloud usage and optimize infrastructure spend
• Implement FinOps best practices to improve forecasting accuracy and cost accountability
• Evaluate and manage SaaS subscriptions, ensuring efficient license utilization and contract compliance
• Support vendor evaluations, contract negotiations, and renewals
• Track vendor performance and ensure adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs)
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, terms, and financial obligations
• Identify process gaps and implement improvements to increase financial efficiency and accuracy
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial processes with business objectives
