Who you are
- Required degree : Master’s level (Bac +4/5) from a business school, engineering school, IAE, or a Master’s in finance or taxation
- Background or interest in science and with good analytical skills in finance or tax
- Good knowledge of the Office pack, especially Excel
- Fluent in written and spoken French/English
- You are self motivated, rigorous and organized

What the job involves
- Under the supervision of the Global Lead of Grants, the main tasks of the Assistant Coordinator consist of :
- The assistant coordinator will actively support the Global Lead of Grants in their duties
- Identifying the relevant financing mechanisms, mapping of grants, write and submit proposals, in cooperation with the technical teams
- Participating in the administrative management and tasks of all grants and R&D tax incentives of these programs, including the research tax credit
- Helping the lead of the grants in business and financial planning, budgets and reporting by working closely with project managers (responsible for technical and operational monitoring)
- Assisting the global lead of grants in developing Pasqal's strategy for program funding and grant management, through strong collaboration and alignment with our national and international offices and R&D teams
- Helping the lead of grants to ensure the effective implementation of Pasqal grants and program funding, leveraging best practice and improve processes in this area
- Participate in the active life of Pasqal (meetings, events, etc.)
- You will be directly involved in one of the biggest challenges shaping the technological landscape of the 21st century
- You will be working as part of a team of top-level scientists and engineers, in direct competition with the world's biggest players

Our take
Classical computing, using bits made up of ones and zeros, have almost reached the physical limits of its capabilities, with engineers running out of ways to fit more transistors onto a computer chip. Meanwhile the processing demands on computing hardware only increase. Quantum computers have long been posited as a solution to this issue, with processors able to exploit quantum mechanics to perform calculations exponentially faster than any classical computer. Founded by a Nobel Prize for Physics recipient, Pasqal exists to bring quantum computing out of the realm of scientific research (and science fiction) and into the business world for the first time.
Pasqal is not alone in the race to produce quantum computers and it faces competition from well-funded rivals such as IonQ and IBM. However, it is pursuing a different technological line - neural atom computing, the ability to manipulate individual atoms with laser tweezers - which has the advantage of being more scalable and energy efficient, being able to run at room temperature rather than requiring supercooling.
In 2023, Pasqal closed a Series B funding round which will be used to develop its first quantum systems for use in business. Having successfully built proof of concept models and overcome the technical challenges of manipulating a few and then hundreds of atoms, Pasqal is building a bespoke control system and begin implementing quantum algorithms. Pasqal was also awarded one of five grants from the French Ministry of Defence in 2024, as part of a government plan to create 2 universal quantum computer systems for defence purposes by 2032. This new development indicates Pasqal's expansion from solely business purposes into new sectors where its technology can be impactful.
