Who you are
- That is why we are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Director of Technology Partnerships (m/f/d) to join our team
- You bring a substantial track record of success with several years of leadership experience in a related field
- You have an established network and strong market understanding in the e-commerce and/or payments space across at least three of the following geographies: Germany, Austria & Switzerland, Benelux, Italy, Nordics
- You are deeply passionate about digitalization, technology, and the ever-evolving e-commerce landscape, constantly seeking new opportunities and advancements
- Your approach is defined by a strong emphasis on partners, customers and delivering exceptional service, prioritizing their needs and satisfaction
- Your leadership style is characterized by agility, enabling quick adaptation to changing circumstances, and a confident presence during partner engagements, discussions, and presentations
- You impress us with your fluency in both German and English, enabling effective communication, and additional language skills would be considered a valuable asset
- Track record in the following technology categories is advantageous: e-commerce platforms, payment providers, ERP & Shipping, Marketing Automation, Advertising Tech, Search & Merchandising, and Personalisation
What the job involves
- In this position, you will play a crucial role in our mission to expand and optimize our partner network, focusing on technology alliances in the e-commerce and wider customer experience space that drive business growth and customer satisfaction
- Partnership Strategy: You will develop and implement a strategic plan to identify, evaluate, and forge partnerships with technology providers that align with Shopware's mission and vision
- Relationship Management: You will nurture and maintain relationships with current and prospective technology partners, ensuring our product and business goals are aligned
- Market Analysis: You stay updated with industry trends and competitor landscape to identify potential partners and emerging technologies
- Execution Focus: You will drive partner initiatives and go-to-market strategies to ensure the successful execution of partnership agreements
- Revenue Growth: You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore new business opportunities and channels to generate revenue through technology partnerships
- Performance Metrics: You will establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of partner programs
Our take
The eCommerce boom in recent years has shown no signs of slowing down, and Shopware is capturing the opportunity. The company offers a set of open source tools to power the online shopping experience for hundreds of thousands of brands.
There are of course competitors, like Shopify Plus, but Shopware has stood out for serving mid-market companies that were not digitally-native businesses but had to take on digital channels to keep up with customer demand. This, combined with the obvious increase in brands and companies needing help when eCommerce became more mainstream, has served Shopware particularly well.
Founded in 2000, the company only received its first round of funding in 2022. Until then, it had been profitable off its own back. This capital and support from, among others, Carlyle and PayPal will be invested in its international growth.
