What the job involves

  • As a Product Director at Numan, you will lead the efforts of a group of cross-functional teams across the strategy, discovery, and delivery of patient-centred solutions, ensuring their work has meaningful company-level impact to materially advance Obesity Treatment’s contribution to Numan’s mission and operating principles
  • You will oversee a set of Product Managers, and collaborate closely with clinical, engineering, design, and commercial teams to solve meaningful patient problems and deliver scalable solutions that drive measurable outcomes for patients and the business
  • By driving the “why” and “what” of Obesity Treatment, you will champion a culture of continuous learning and innovation, contributing to Numan’s broader platform-building objectives and mission impact
  • Define and communicate the strategy for Numan’s Obesity Treatment business, ensuring that teams within the group contribute to the group’s priorities and Numan’s mission
  • Identify and champion opportunities to deliver patient outcomes and business value
  • Ensure solutions support reusable and scalable platform capabilities
  • Champion bold, innovative ideas that differentiate Numan in the market
  • Lead continuous discovery efforts to deeply understand patient needs, market dynamics, and emerging opportunities across the Obesity Treatment business
  • Bring expertise in prototyping, research, and experimentation to help coach and lead teams in your group to apply best practice techniques to an iterative development approach
  • Collaborate with clinical, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure delivery of solutions that are feasible, viable, and desirable
  • Be a central part of a cross-functional business unit leadership group to deliver scalable, and impactful solutions that align with Numan’s mission
  • Proactively identify and resolve dependencies to ensure smooth, efficient delivery
  • Maintain a high bar for patient safety, clinical quality, and technical reliability in all product decisions
  • Define, track, and optimise KPIs that measure the success of your product, including patient health outcomes and business metrics
  • Use patient feedback, engagement data, and health outcomes to continuously iterate and improve
  • Inspire and empower teams by fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and collaboration
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across clinical, engineering, design, and commercial functions
  • Act as a steward for Numan’s operating principles, balancing immediate deliverables with long-term strategic value
  • Act as an advocate for patient-centricity and long-term value creation, balancing immediate needs with strategic goals

Our take

Numan is a digital health startup focusing on treatments for men. The company initially offered a range of solutions for erectile dysfunction (ED) and hair loss, both themes related to male self-esteem that are often avoided and ignored.

More recently, the company has expanded into areas like premature ejaculation and weight loss, alongside a comprehensive suite of diagnostic blood tests, live doctor consultations, and various personalised supplements. In practice, Numan’s platform enables free online medical consultations, clinically proven treatments, and personalised treatment plan.

Numan will be using new resources for further investments in technology and expansion of operations. It's also made a number of key senior hires recently – including Sam Shah, former Chief Executive of the digital arm of the NHS, NHSX, as Chief Medical Strategy Officer.
