Role
Who you are
- 8-10+ years of experience in software engineering
- Expertise in designing and managing large-scale production systems, particularly in cloud-based architectures (GCP preferred)
- Functional knowledge of derivatives markets, including options and perpetual futures
- Proficiency in building 0→1 systems and scaling them
- Engineering Excellence:
- Exceptional coding and debugging skills, deep understanding of cloud architectures and algorithms
- Design, build, and maintain a large-scale production system on the cloud, ensuring smooth ops and HA
- Consistently manage engineering assets meticulously, starting from gathering requirements and designing to debugging and testing, and finally, release management and operational monitoring
- Leadership and Mentorship:
- Proven ability to manage and lead diverse engineering teams, driving motivation and timely delivery
- Track record of mentoring engineers and fostering career growth within a team
- Modern Best Practices:
- Enthusiastic about emerging tech, modern practices in software engineering, and Web3 development
- Commitment to shaping and evolving the tech stack for cutting-edge innovation
- Experience with Typescript, Python, EVM, Distributed Systems, or Cryptography
Desirable
- Prior experience as a Technical Lead or Engineering Manager
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based financial exchanges
- Educational background in Computer Science or related fields
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

What the job involves
- We are looking for a Senior Engineering Leader to guide and scale our Research Team (focused on Financial Engineering and Quantitative Finance) and Infrastructure Team (encompassing Cloud Platform Management, Smart Contracts, and DevOps). This pivotal role requires a strong technical foundation, exceptional leadership skills, and a visionary approach to architecting and delivering cutting-edge solutions
- Oversee the design and execution of systems supporting the lifecycle of derivatives trading, including order input, clearing, execution, matching, margin calculations, liquidations, settlement, etc
- Lead the architecture and development of institutional-grade derivatives infrastructure, ensuring robustness, scalability, and efficiency
- Thought Leadership in financial engineering and backend solutions architecture, driving innovation and best practices
- Writing high-quality and well-tested code as well as reviewing code from other team members
- Inspire and motivate cross-functional teams, balancing high technical standards with pragmatic delivery timelines
- Remove friction points and optimize workflows to foster productivity and innovation
- Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers, nurturing a collaborative and high-performing culture
- Partner with product managers, designers, and other engineers to turn high-level requirements into actionable roadmaps
- Ensure backend services seamlessly integrate with frontend applications for real-time user experiences
- Champion cross-pod technical initiatives that impact the entire engineering organization
- Drive end-to-end software lifecycle management, from requirements, specifications, and system design to deployment and monitoring
- Ensure the continuous availability and reliability of the exchange by participating in the on-call rotation

Boasting the best value in pricing, the company assures its users that it stays competitive with its offering as the market moves.
Within its first year, Premia has built a variety of products and services for users to take advantage of and has also been added to several crypto platforms including Zapper, Blockfolio, and HotBit. The acceptance into the sector in its early days shows promise for the company. It continues to grow as it sets out on new projects like expanding its business relationships, building more assets, and much more. It’ll be exciting to see if, as the company scales, it can continue to uphold the valued reputation it's built already.
