- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 3-4 years of experience in accounting or related field
- CPA & Big Four experience preferred
- Experience in a SaaS or technology startup environment is a plus
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
What the job involves
- BuildOps is looking for a senior accountant to join our rapidly growing team. You will be directly reporting to the Controller
- Take ownership of the day-to-day accounting processes including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and general ledger reconciliations, and accruals
- Identify, improve, and enhance reporting capabilities using accounting software and related systems to streamline accounting processes
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all financial records
- Build and maintain relationships with business partners to ensure complete and accurate information is obtained to support the recording of entries in the general ledger
- Support in external audits, including preparing audit schedules, addressing audit queries, and implementing , and maintaining effective internal control systems
- Participate and lead, where appropriate, ad-hoc projects and analyses, as required
