Compliance Testing Manager, Upstart

• 5+ years of experience in compliance testing, audit, risk management, or regulatory oversight within financial services or fintech
• 3+ years of people management experience
• Deep knowledge of consumer lending laws and regulations (e.g., ECOA, FCRA, UDAAP, TILA, GLBA)
• Experience conducting control assessments, issue remediation tracking, and reporting on compliance risk
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders

• By collaborating with internal stakeholders, you will enhance compliance controls, drive process improvements, and foster a culture of proactive risk management
• Develop and execute a risk-based compliance testing program, identifying gaps and ensuring controls align with regulatory requirements
• Design and implement testing methodologies, including sampling techniques, control evaluations, and root cause analysis
• Analyze compliance test results, prepare reports, and communicate findings with business leaders and compliance stakeholders to drive corrective actions
• Partner with Risk, Legal, Internal Audit, and Product teams to enhance compliance frameworks and proactively address emerging risks
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on existing compliance controls, updating testing strategies as needed
• Leverage automation and data analytics to improve compliance testing efficiency and scalability
