Role
Who you are
- Expert in implementing modern BI, ETL and Data Warehousing solutions (Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Data Bricks)
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server toolset and BI tools such as Power BI
- Experience working with Finance or Accounting reporting with an understanding of accounting concepts
- Experience in data-warehousing, dimensional modelling, and dimensional data mart design
- Experience in design, development, and implementation of Dashboards & Business Intelligence applications
- Excellent T-SQL skills including SQL query performance optimisation
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communications skills
- Experience in alerting and monitoring requirements for the Azure platform.
- Familiarity with Dynamics 365 for Finance, Dynamics AX or other similar ERP solutions would be great
- Experience with Azure DevOps pipeline configuration, specifically in relation to BI/Data technologies
- Further programming experience in Python, C#, or PowerShell
- You're passionate about tech and data engineering, love hands-on development and want to build you will be delivering best in class Business Intelligence (BI) solutions based on the Microsoft Data Platform
What the job involves
- We are on the look-out for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join the Finance Technology Team. This is a hands-on Engineering role responsible for delivering data solutions on Microsoft technology (Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL/MSSQL)
- You will define and document business requirements, produce and validate solution designs, troubleshoot problems, adapt quickly to a rapidly evolving retail environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders across several business disciplines including Finance & IT
- It is imperative that you can liaise with the business directly to understand complex solutions and playback to senior stakeholders in non-technical terms
- Communicating and translating data engineering requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Developing data solutions based on Azure technologies such as Azure SQL, ADF, logic apps, Azure Functions
- Creating technical documentation for reference and reporting
- Provide 2nd/3rd line technical support to our Finance Technology Support Team
- Monitor the performance of the solution and recommend improvements
- Supporting our culture by driving Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies
