Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in a heavily quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent)
- 7-10 years of post-grad experience in data product development, analytics, or a related technical field
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in full-stack application development within a low-code or no-code app development environment
- A minimum of 2 years of experience leading technical projects, with a demonstrated ability to own project delivery and guide technical execution
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable supporting non-technical teams (like Product and Design) to reach their goals and managing expectations
- Entrepreneurial and self-starter spirit. You will be expected to actively identify, prioritize, and solve for the needs of different teams and clients, acting as a true owner of the product
Desirable
- Extensive experience building applications and data pipelines within Palantir Foundry is highly preferred and can be a deciding factor, as it is the platform where most of the work is expected to happen
- Familiarity with traditional software engineering principles and languages (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, Python) to extend low/no-code capabilities when necessary
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or other Quantitative field
- Experience in the healthcare industry and familiarity with HIPAA and other healthcare compliance standards
What the job involves
- This Staff Data Product Developer will be a pivotal technical leader in our fast-growing startup
- Operating at a Tech Lead level within the Analytics team, you will be the primary builder and architect of our client-facing data platform, Sage Insight
- You will work autonomously, bringing a blend of technical expertise, product sense, and an entrepreneurial spirit to translate user needs into robust, scalable data applications
- While this is a highly senior role, you will not be an "ivory tower" architect; you will be hands-on developing 80% of the time in your first 6-9 months
- You will apply software engineering best practices to a low/no-code environment (specifically Palantir Foundry), partnering closely with our Product and Design teams
- Your goal is to ensure our clients have a seamless, intuitive, and powerful experience when interacting with their data
- As the platform and company scale, you will help establish the foundation for future Data Product Developers to build upon
- Product Development: Lead the end-to-end development, architecture, and maintenance of Sage Insight, our client-facing data platform, utilizing Palantir Foundry to build powerful data applications
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product and Design teams to scope requirements, iterate on UI/UX, and deliver intuitive data products that our clients love and rely on daily
- Technical Leadership & Architecture: Act as the technical lead for data product initiatives. Design scalable system architectures while remaining heavily hands-on in the day-to-day building and deployment of the platform
- Continuous Improvement: Implement software engineering best practices within a low/no-code environment, ensuring application performance, rigorous quality assurance, and state-of-the-art methodologies to increase overall business value

In the event of an accident or fall, elder care facilities largely rely on outdated nurse call systems, which can mean residents wait longer than necessary to receive care or attention. Sage solves this problem by providing carers and institutions with a modern operating system.
Sage's caregiver app allows carers to identify patients in need of help, as well as providing tools for triage and the reviewing of care information. As one of the first companies to bring a data-driven approach to elder care in this way, Sage has received strong attention and raised an impressive $35 million in funding in 2024.
The age-tech market is growing steadily, and becoming more competitive, which means Sage will need to invest heavily in scaling its outreach in order to consolidate its progress. That said, it has established an early foothold which gives it a place to work from as it develops into the future.
