Who you are

Have 5+ years developing and deploying complex web applications, with a proven track record of shipping performant quality code
Are familiar with Node.js and TypeScript and can write scalable services and APIs using Express.js, GraphQL, Apollo, and MongoDB
Can debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Mocha, Playwright, Cypress)
Are comfortable working in an agile, safe-to-fail environment to clarify ambiguous requirements and design well scoped solutions

What the job involves

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us build workflows for teams working on projects in Webflow and building next generation publishing experiences
Architect, design, and implement scalable multi-tenant backend services and APIs
Work on technologies such as Node.js, Javascript/Typescript, MongoDB, GraphQL, Apollo, Amazon Web Services EC2, S3, Lambdas, and more
Demonstrable solid experience and deep expertise in multiple technical domains
Contribute to building and executing on functional strategy
Lead projects that directly contribute to team and engineering organization's deliverables
Produce and elevate the quality of maintainable, tested, performant, and scalable code
Build and maintain unit and integration tests
Author, collaborate on, and evaluate design documents
Influence technical designs and team-level prioritization as well as participate in technical solutions
Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and designers in an autonomous, supportive team environment
Mentor other engineers in technical skills, best practices, and quality
Participate in engineering citizenship activities such as co-authoring engineering blogs, strengthening and improving our hiring processes, and leading internal hackathon teams

Our take

No-code development systems allow users to create and publish the kind of output that was once only possible with the help of a team of developers. Webflow is one such platform that allows non-developers to create professional websites without knowing any code. It joins others such as Pantheon, Weebly, Squarespace, and Wix in a hotly-contested low-code development market. While competition is high, so too is demand, with low-code platforms accounting for more than 65% of application development activity in 2024.

The popularity of platforms such as Webflow is perhaps not surprising, as low-code development is usually cheaper for companies to implement and reduces time to market. Webflow has been used by over 3.5 million designers and teams to create sites for companies including enterprise brands such as Dell, Rakuten, UpWork, and Petal. It raised a large amount of funding in a Series C round in 2022. This is being used to further develop its platform, with a longer-term goal of pivoting to providing a no-code tool not only for websites, but software development as well.
