What the job involves
- We're looking to add a Sales Manager to oversee our Midmarket team!
- Be the Coach: your primary role is to coach, mentor and motivate our team. Channel your inner Ted Lasso with pep talks that would make even a sloth run a marathon - both 1:1 and in group settings. Be prepared to help AEs with deal strategies, call feedback, and ideas on how to move a deal along
- Performance-Focused: figure out how you need to invest in every AE to get them performing as well as possible - celebrate AEs when they hit their goals, find challenges for your top performers, and lean into hard conversations and decisions around performance when it’s not there
- Metrics & Data Driven: in order to effectively coach, you need to be able to diagnose where an AE should focus to improve and unlock their potential. Looking at indicators (leading and lagging) for those on your team to ensure we crush our goals! You manage reports and dashboards like you're the curator of the world's most exciting museum of numbers
- Experiment & Iterate: you’re constantly looking for opportunities to elevate yourself, those around you, and our processes. Whether that means you’re reviewing playbooks, researching new best practices, or writing emails for AEs to use, you need to constantly be thinking “where can we improve” and run with a plan to implement improvements
- Talent Scout: recruit, interview, and onboard new AEs with the eye of a talent agent looking for the next big star

Our take
The integration of market data into the many functions of enterprise has been a consistent trend in SaaS markets for a number of years. Klue is taking a similar approach for teams looking to understand competitive landscapes.
The startup is uniquely attempting to create a new category of ‘competitive enablement software’. Whereas other software companies sought to fix a company’s business intelligence needs or content placement strategies, Klue brings all of these services together under the lens of competitive positioning.
Klue plans to find ways to reduce the burden of collecting intel and also automate insights. The company wants to introduce deeper integrations with enterprise tools like Slack, Salesforce, Gong, Highspot and Gainsights.
The biggest risk facing the company is that their product is currently more enterprise friendly, supported by customer specialists. For the software company to achieve true scale, they will want to democratise access to competitive enablement with a self-serve software available to small businesses.
