Role
Who you are
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, Go, Java, or similar
- Interest in AI, automation, internal tooling, and applied software engineering
- Comfortable with APIs, Git, command-line tools, and modern development workflows
- Able to communicate with non-technical stakeholders and translate business problems into solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort with ambiguity
Desirable
- Bonus: LLM APIs, workflow automation tools, SQL, context engineering, or agentic systems
What the job involves
- You'll build internal tools, automations, and AI-powered workflows that improve how engineering and business teams operate
- Working across Operations, Risk, Customer Success, Finance, and Engineering, you'll identify inefficient processes and solve them with software, APIs, data pipelines, and AI agents
- Ideal for someone who enjoys turning ambiguous problems and emerging AI capabilities into reliable internal tools
- This internship will be for a period of 8+ weeks
- Build internal tools, scripts, automations, dashboards, and AI-assisted workflows that reduce repetitive work
- Prototype and evaluate AI agents and LLM-powered tools for document processing, data extraction, workflow routing, reporting, and knowledge retrieval
- Integrate internal systems, third-party APIs, and business tools to reduce operational friction
- Ensure automations are secure, maintainable, and aligned with company systems
- Write documentation and repeatable patterns so teams can adopt and maintain new workflows
- Measure impact through usage, time saved, error reduction, and team feedback

Our take
Home rental rates across the US are soaring. On average, rent went up by over 10% in a single year between 2021 and 2022, while in some cities that increase is as much as 40%. Renters are now struggling more than ever to qualify for homes and afford security deposits, which also impacts landlords who lack security.
TheGuarantors, which is a licensed insurance agent and broker bridges this gap by acting as a co-signer, then offering to cover and underwrite security deposits if necessary in exchange for a percentage fee of the monthly rent.
There’s been a lot of movement in the rental startups space of late, with venture capital being poured into companies like rent-to-own Divvy and rent now, pay later startup Jetty.
TheGuarantors, however, has seen immense user uptake on its platform and has won the capital backing of Portage Venture, which it intends to use to scale both its product offering and staff headcount. This, plus B Corp certification awarded in 2024, will help TheGuarantors expand its market visibility.
