Role
Who you are
- 3+ years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer, with a strong focus on blockchain and decentralized systems
- Proficiency in Rust is required; JavaScript/TypeScript/Node.js is a nice-to-have but not mandatory
- Experience with test automation for blockchain ecosystems, including tools such as Forge, try-runtime
- Understanding of Substrate, Ethereum, Solana and other blockchain technologies
- Familiarity with open-source development workflows, especially GitHub
- Experience with containerized applications and deployments, including Docker and Kubernetes
- Understanding of cloud environments, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar (AWS, Azure)
- Strong debugging and analytical skills for identifying and resolving blockchain network and smart contract issues
- Experience in building and setting up QA and CI/CD tools that can scale across multiple products with high standardization
- Experience working in an open-source organization and contributing to blockchain infrastructure testing
- Solid documentation practices to ensure clear test coverage, test plans, and automation scripts
- Experience working in a decentralized and remote-first team environment
- Collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and an ability to work closely with development and infrastructure teams
Desirable
- Experience with Parity's Zombienet and Substrate's ecosystem for blockchain testing
- Interest in exploring Zombienet’s potential role in our infrastructure and understanding how it fits within our existing testing setup
- Familiarity with frontend automation is not required, as GUI testing is handled by a separate team
What the job involves
- We're hiring an experienced Web3 QA Automation Engineer to join our Engineering team
- This role will be pivotal in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and user experience
- Applying world-class QA best practices to Codefi development processes and technical stacks
- Creation, maintenance, and execution of detailed automated test cases
- Management and oversight of multiple projects simultaneously
- Reviewing requirements to ensure they are thorough and detailed, and providing knowledgeable feedback
- Keeping thorough documentation of all project aspects, including deployment communication, bug tickets, and both manual and automated test cases
- Active participation in project development meetings, including backlog grooming and sprint planning
- Ensuring that all major software releases meet our high quality standards
- Collaborating with the team to solve application faults, identify and report bugs, and highlight quality issues
- Development, execution, and maintenance of automation scripts, test plans, and test cases
- Continuously improving test strategies, frameworks, tools, and technologies to maintain a high-quality bar
Our take
Blockchains face a lot of challenges, and one of the largest is liquidity fragmentation and a lack of interoperability. Analog is setting out to solve this problem, using time to validate data across a range of blockchains.
This time-based technology is novel and highly promising, with applications across the metaverse, decentralized finance and NFTs. Analog's backing by investors such as X Fund, the Hollywood Studio Black Label Media, and Varys Capital is testament to the lucrative and diverse potential of its technology.
The market is becoming increasingly competitive, and Analog will need to scale quickly if it is to compete with rival blockchain developers. That said, a strong, interoperable framework is going to be key for the digital asset space going forward, so that means there should be plenty of room for Analog to achieve this vital growth.
