Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or Electronics
- 4+ years of software development experience
- Embedded SW development
- Ability to work in different programming languages
- Experience with the following programming languages: Python, C++, PHP
- Experiences with Databases (MAriaDB/Mysql, PostgreSQL, SQlite )
- Experience on managing containers on embedded systems (Docker, LXC )
- Experience on creating and managing Linux images. Yocto Knowledge is a plus
- Experience with syslog daemons is a plus
- HTML/CSS/Javascript is a plus
- Experience interfacing with external modems as LoRa wifi and LTE is a plus
- Knowledge of at least one scripting language
- Ethernet & TCP/IP networking
- Git. (Subversion or other VCS experience is also beneficial)
- Good communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
- Prior experience in final product environments
- A good team player. Open to several points of views and peer programming
- Comfortable with Agile methodology
- Understand company needs and adjust the technical solutions to match the company objectives
- Be able to take the ownership of a technical development
- A can-do, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
- Excellent verbal and written skills along with a strong commercial focus
What the job involves
- We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic Embedded Software Engineer to join our Engineering (Connectivity & Gateways) team in Barcelona
- The Embedded Software Engineer will play a critical role in Worldsensing
- This role’s primary focus will be the development, definition, and deployment of software solutions for our products, whilst ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from and to these products
- Design and development of the software stack for our core IoT products, making sure our gateways, devices, and their applications function properly (including scalability, efficiency, resilience, fault tolerance, and data security techniques)
- Collaborate with the Quality assurance team helping on the testability of the product
- Work closely with Software, Firmware and Hardware engineers, product owners, and other team members to implement complex end-to-end systems
- Use technical skills to close the gaps between new requirements and the Worldsensing products
- Continuously improve our products and enhance their functionality
- Rigorous commitment to, quality engineering, testing, documentation and support
