What the job involves
- We're looking for a design leader to help grow Limbic's products and brand into a strong position
- Collaborate cross-functionally with growth, and engineering
- Identify areas for improvement, come up with possible solutions and proposals, as well as iterate, implement, and drive releases that improve the product
- Drive engineering (product and science) towards shippable solutions to a given problem and work towards a clear proposal through multiple iterations
- Turning user research into high fidelity designs and improving existing implementations
- Deliver high-quality mockups and visuals
- Collaborate closely with engineering to keep track of implementation, maintain app quality, find bugs, and provide reproduction paths
- Continuously validate the user satisfaction of shipped solutions and look for low-effort improvements with the highest impact
- Grow a productive and passionate team of product and marketing designers
- Implement best practices for the design team to be more productive and happier

The COVID-19 pandemic has sharply accelerated the rise in mental health problems, and more UK citizens than ever are seeking out healthcare solutions. This increase in patient demand, however, is outpacing the clinical capacity for care, which has resulted in an overburdened and underfunded mental healthcare field facing growing backlogs. Limbic AI is a startup looking to address this shortfall, offering a suite of conversational AI products to support patients and clinicians throughout the mental healthcare pathway.
Their products collect data to ease the admin load for professionals, facilitate faster diagnoses, and improve patient access to NICE-approved therapies. It’s won them good engagement so far, Limbic already covers 180,000 annual patient referrals, works with 15% of NHS talk therapy providers, and has garnered a number of awards for its efforts. Funding is being used to expand the availability of its product into US markets.
