Who you are

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent related professional experience and 5+ years of hands-on software development experience, ideally in large-scale or enterprise environments
Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable applications
Advanced knowledge in one or more programming languages
Frontend libraries and frameworks: Javascript/Typescript, HTML/CSS, React.js, Node.js
Familiarity with Server-side technologies: Java, Kotlin with a solid understanding of API design in GraphQL/RESTful services
Familiarity with cloud architecture and platforms like AWS
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, Spinnaker, or GitHub Actions
Strong experience in unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing, using frameworks and tools like JUnit, Mockito, Jest, Cypress, or Selenium
Strong understanding of SEO principles, both on-page and technical
Experience with SEM campaign landing page development and A/B testing
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Capable of mentoring junior developers and participating in technical discussions and decision-making processes

We are the Acquisition Marketing & Growth (AMG) team that plays a key role in shaping the first impressions of millions of travelers entering our ecosystem
We’re looking for a motivated, curious, and creative thinker to help us build and elevate the upper-funnel landing experience for customers
As an integral member of the AMG team, you'll design and implement engaging entry points for users coming through a range of channels—including direct traffic, paid advertising, organic SEO, SEM, and social platforms
Our goal is to craft a contextual and personalized experience that draws customers in and supports them as they explore and find the perfect travel options within the Expedia ecosystem
Lead development of features for the traveler experience across all of EG brands’ Landing Pages
Explore, learn, design, and implement modular and scalable software components, based on your understanding of the EG ecosystem, complemented by current industry trends
Understand the business problem space, and communicate impact to technical decisions while providing high-level estimates, and breakdown of tasks for the solutions proposed
Enable decision making to architecture, and technical challenges faced by the team and document and share best practices, maintain and enhance quality of code written
Optimize existing observability, and monitoring solutions, and proactively identify methods to close the gap to maintain high operational excellence
Mentor junior developers in your chosen area of technology

Expedia is an online travel agency. They enable users to access a wide range of services including airline tickets, hotel reservations, car rentals, cruises, vacation packages, and various attractions and services via the world wide web and telephone travel agents. Its primary web businesses include Expedia.com, Hotels.com, Hotwire.com, and Egencia.com.

Between 2021 and 2022, Expedia has been selling and merging a list of its sub-brands in a bid to simplify its operations, including Egencia and Classic Vacations. Due to plummeting share prices, mostly in the case of its sub-brands, Expedia has been leveraging its subsidiaries' customer base and merging them into the company’s core brand. Contrasting this move, Expedia has also been partnering with tech start-ups in a bid to make travel more accessible to underserved groups. Becoming Rentable, a travel company for the disabled is one of 12 startups that are part of Expedia Group’s new Open World Accelerator Programme.

What this indicates is Expedia’s shift from buying other travel companies and a move towards enhancing the experience of its preexisting customer base. This move is aiding in a long-term plan for greater long-term traveler loyalty, utilizing Expedia’s vast amounts of data, not just from reviews, but from check-in, cleanliness, communication, cancelations, etc to inform how guests experience a property.
