- Big 4 public accounting experience and SaaS/technology industry experience strongly preferred
- Active CPA license required

What the job involves
- We're seeking a Senior Technical Accounting Manager to play a pivotal role in advancing DNAnexus' accounting function. Reporting directly to the VP, Finance & Accounting, you'll drive technical accounting excellence while building the infrastructure needed to support our continued growth
- As a key member of our finance team, you'll lead technical accounting research and establish robust policies and procedures that ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP. You'll oversee both internal and external reporting processes and provide critical support during annual audits
- Beyond technical responsibilities, you'll work operationally across the organization—partnering with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable processes that enable accurate, timely accounting and reporting
- Lead technical accounting research and application across key areas including ASC 606 (revenue recognition) and other complex or judgmental estimates
- Prepare and review financial statements and disclosures for annual audits as a private company, with readiness to support public-company financial reporting requirements as the business evolves
- Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure ongoing alignment with evolving business operations and U.S. GAAP requirements
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and enhance reporting timelines, accuracy, and automation across the close and reporting process
- Partner with cross-functional teams (FP&A, Commercial, Sales Operations, Legal, BUs) in providing technical accounting guidance to operationalize business transactions and new arrangements
- Support the VP, Finance & Accounting in driving special projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, automation, and accuracy across the Accounting function
- Serve as primary liaison with external auditors, managing audit requests and ensuring timely completion of annual audits

DNANexus provides a cloud storage platform for DNA data that provides access and collaborative opportunities to governments, universities, doctors and pharmaceutical companies. In addition to storing this data to be accessed, the company provides an open source machine learning approach to the analysis of DNA.
By providing an open platform of DNA storage and analysis tools for research facilities, DNAnexus aims to make the power of DNA accessible to all who would benefit from it. And its doing so with substantial funding which its put towards the global adoption of its technology.
