Who you are

  • Proven experience of at least 6 mo-1 year in SaaS Sales Development or similar role. We’re looking for a highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record of success in sales
  • Comfortable cold calling, prospecting, and conducting thorough outreach using tools like Salesforce, Salesloft, LeadIQ, and/or LinkedIn Sales Navigator. A proven track record of achieving sales metrics and consistent achievement of quota attainment makes for an ideal candidate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Your primary charter is to talk to our prospects. Whatever form of communication that requires, you must represent yourself, the team, Middesk, and our customers well. Clear, concise, actionable communication is imperative
  • The ability to work in a fast paced, team environment. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated the ability to problem solve autonomously, manage your time well, and remain organized. When faced with challenges, you’ll take initiative to resolve them and deliver your best work
  • Motivation, drive and a positive self-starting attitude. You will meet these criteria by showing a strong desire to pursue a career in Sales and willingness to achieve results

What the job involves

  • Middesk is looking for a high-energy, driven professional with business acumen, technical aptitude and sales instincts to join our competitive Sales organization as an SDR
  • As an SDR, your primary responsibility will be to uncover and qualify new opportunities within Middesk’s target market, focusing on the banking, lending, and payments verticals
  • Since our SDRs serve as the first point of contact for prospects and customers, your success will be measured by efficient prospecting and outbound efforts to break into new accounts, build relationships across all levels of our customer segments, and create opportunities that drive new business
  • Your conversations will reflect a deep understanding of your buyer, their business, and what Middesk means to their success

  • Strategically target accounts, creating a personalized outbound approach for key prospects and decision-makers
  • Identify prospective customer’s needs and present Middesk’s products and services as solutions, drawing on extensive knowledge and research to explain how our offerings meet their needs
  • Become a product expert who is knowledgeable about customer’s needs and can easily convey how our solutions uniquely address their most pressing challenges
  • Develop detailed plans to achieve predetermined goals and quotas on a quarterly basis

Our take

Middesk helps businesses screen, verify, and run risk and compliance checks on customers and other businesses. The founders developed the business after experiencing first-hand the often laborious process of manual identity verification, a process which has proven a pain point for many businesses historically.

This hands-on experience helped land Middesk seeding from heavyweight investors Sequoia and Accel. The company's focus is on businesses with stringent regulatory risk requirements, with a special focus on businesses involved in financial aspects like credit and payroll. Middesk’s focus on this sector opens them up to a growing, lucrative market as more businesses than ever are demanding services comparable to retail banking, credit unions and community banks.

Testament to the value of their offering is Middesk’s recent partnership with challenger bank tech platform Agora Services. The challenger bank sector is taking off fast too, and if Middesk can establish a strong reputation for servicing this burgeoning industry, they stand to win big.
