Who you are
- Optimising - you’re constantly looking for opportunities to improve effectiveness, and excel in optimising key touch points within the user acquisition journey
- Experimenting - Running A/B tests excites you, whether it’s testing creative assets, ad targeting, or app store pages
- Collaborating & Communicating - You enjoy working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, engaging with creatives, developers and marketing team mates
- Analyzing Data - You’re passionate about diving into data to identify opportunities and refine strategies
- 1.5+ years of proven experience in growth marketing, ideally with a focus on app user acquisition or ASO
- You are data and results-driven. You love to test, learn, iterate and repeat. You’re motivated by seeing the quantifiable impact of the team’s work
- You have hands-on experience with Apple Search Ads or managing paid search app acquisition campaigns
- You have expertise in app analytics tools and understand the app user acquisition journey
- You’re a “doer”; not just a “thinker”. You’re hands on and want to roll up your sleeves / get stuck in
- You’re a problem-solver with a strategic mind
- You’re organised, efficient, and can execute at pace
- You (hopefully!) love running and you’re passionate about our mission to make running training effective, easy and enjoyable for everyone
- You’re ideally London based (or able to work in person 2+ days per week), but we’ll be open to remote for exceptional people
What the job involves
- Reporting to the Head of Growth, you’ll focus on optimising Runna’s app presence and driving user acquisition across key channels
- Your role will involve managing App Store Optimisation (ASO) efforts and overseeing paid acquisition on Apple Search Ads
- Full ownership of App Store Optimisation for Runna on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store across all major markets
- Managing keyword and metadata optimisation, custom product pages, in-app events, and promotional content
- Conducting iterative testing using native app store testing capabilities
- Staying ahead of trends and updates in app store algorithms to maximise visibility and performance
- Managing Runna’s paid acquisition campaigns on Apple Search Ads, optimising for scale and efficiency
- Collaborating with the Performance Marketing Lead to develop high-performing keyword strategies for multiple markets
- Monitoring campaign performance and conducting regular analysis to ensure budget efficiency and maximise ROI
- Supporting across other Paid UA channels, contributing to ideas and looking for opportunities to drive growth

As a way to keep fit, running has shot up in popularity in recent years, partially due to accessibility, especially during the pandemic. But for those who want to take running to the next level – whether that be a 5K or a marathon – it can be difficult to know where to start in terms of a training plan. Runna supplies an app with personalised training plans for all types of runs, to help people achieve their running and fitness goals.
Runna was founded in 2020 by running enthusiasts for running enthusiasts, in response to the lack of tools – save paying a professional trainer – available to help runners train. Although there is a wealth of day-to-day running apps available, where Runna stands out is in providing training plans for specific races, which can be distinguished by distance and goal time. In addition, it does this whilst maintaining a sense of community, which has proven to be a popular feature amongst other running apps, and still caters to a range of experience levels.
Runna has since consistent subscriber growth since its launch, serving thousands of users globally. The company plans to build and scale into the future, reach more customers, and expand its team.
