Role
Who you are
- Experience working as a Lead-level designer in an in-house product development team collaborating cross-functionally with key people across the business
- Ideally, you will have experienced either building or helping to build a high-impact design function from the ground up, including design processes, defining what great looks like, leading design direction and helping to hire and expand design capability
- An ability to balance the needs of users, business objectives, and technical constraints to achieve the best possible product experience including knowing when and how to make well-judged trade-offs
- A natural curiosity about the product you're working on and the industry, taking a keen interest in what goes on in other teams within the business
- A deep understanding of Figma and other design tools, plus when to use different tools to solve different types of problem
- The ability to communicate and engage with a high level of EQ specific to the audience. Intrinsically open-minded with a strong desire to proactively and continually learn and grow

- You’ll join a cross-functional product team, collaborating directly with Engineers, PMs, Customer Success and the wider business, to deliver well-crafted product

- You'll join as a Lead Product Designer, playing a critical role in both shaping and designing our product and steering its strategic direction
- This position marks a pivotal moment in our journey, offering the chance to significantly influence our design philosophy, product strategy, and user experience at a foundational level
- You'll play a central role in product leadership, collaborating closely with Product Management and Engineering to identify, define, and solve critical business problems. Your responsibilities will encompass the end-to-end design process, leading product and design discussions, and helping contextualise customer and business goals to the wider team
- Your attention to detail, deep understanding of our users, and persistent curiosity will be critical in driving forward our product's vision and impact

- Lead and collaborate to deliver exceptional product. From understanding initial needs to crafting usable solutions, you'll work directly with engineers to bring our product vision to life
- Get to know our customers. By directly interacting with customers, conducting research, and leveraging data, you'll be the advocate for their goals throughout the design process
- Design simple, predictable and powerful experiences. From early ideation and sketching to high-fidelity designs, you'll craft simple, predictable, and impactful user experiences
- Move fast, with an eye for detail. You enjoy moving fast while maintaining high attention-to-detail, iterating as necessary
- Have an impact. We're a growing startup - so expect to have a hand in everything from product decisions to engineering strategy
- Shaping and leading our design culture. You’ll set the foundations of Product Design at Risk Ledger, helping define our ways of working and what excellence looks like

Through its platform, Risk Ledger is marking a turning point in the process of discovering, measuring and then mitigating security risks for companies, their clients and their suppliers. Risk Ledger is trying to lower the number of data breaches experienced by companies and consumers as a consequence of supply chain attacks on a global level.
According to research, over 60% of organisations have suffered a data breach originating in the supply chain with fines inevitably following. Mainstream risk assurance methods are no longer be able to effectively detect and mitigate the growing risk associated with more complex and more global supply chains. SMEs are also generally less resilient to security attacks than multinational corporations due to smaller budgets and teams; over 50,000 SMEs in the UK could collapse after a successful cyber attack.
Risk Ledger has helped customers collect supplier data up to 70% faster than before and reduced per-supplier costs by up to 90%. Its challenge now is to provide integrations with different tools and, by doing so, turn Risk Ledger into a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution.
