Role
Who you are
- Degree (e.g. Ph.D. or Master's) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related field, with a strong background in machine learning
- Extensive experience (at least 5+ years) working in data, analytics, and AI-related roles, including leadership experience managing direct and cross-functional teams
- Hands-on experience in all relevant aspects of data, from data engineering to data analytics and data science, with proficiency in SQL, Python, and data loading tools such as Fivetran, Segment, and Airflow
- Demonstrated expertise in AI technologies, machine learning algorithms, computer vision, natural language processing, and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or PowerBI
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex data and AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven track record of successful project delivery, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and user experience, and familiarity with ethical and responsible AI practices
What the job involves
- We are seeking an AI & Data Leader to take on the role of Director Intelligence (m/f/d), leading our company's efforts in leveraging data and artificial intelligence to revolutionize the food delivery industry
- You will be responsible for spearheading the development, implementation, and execution of our data and AI strategies, driving innovation, scalability, and long-term growth
- Develop and execute a comprehensive data, analytics, and AI strategy aligned with our business objectives. Working closely with C-level executives on building the company's strategic direction
- Lead the identification and prioritization of data and AI initiatives that deliver tangible business value, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with company goals
- Build and lead a high-performing team encompassing data analysts, data engineers, and AI professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence
- Serve as the primary interface between our data, analytics, and AI teams and senior leadership, championing the value of data-driven decision-making and AI-driven solutions
- Develop and communicate a long-term vision for data and AI within the organization, translating strategic goals into actionable plans and roadmaps for execution
- Oversee the implementation of data and AI projects, ensuring successful delivery, adherence to quality standards, and alignment with business requirements
- Drive the integration of AI technologies into our existing systems and processes, optimizing performance, scalability, and user experience
- Keep abreast of emerging data and AI technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on our business and identifying opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage
Our take
Initially supplying a delivery app for micro kitchens, Circus Group now develops AI-powered autonomous robots for kitchens. The idea is to support the cooking of low-cost, high-quality cuisine while reducing food waste, overhead costs and cooking times.
Founded in Munich, the company has invested in expansion to other German cities - and also into Beijing where it installed over 5000 autonomous kitchen robots in educational institutions.
It continues to secure lucrative partnerships such as with Mercedes-Benz Gastronomie, as well as acquiring the global patent portfolio of a US-based AI robotics company. This sets the company up well to become a real disruptor in the space, and to build on its successes so far.
