Company mission
To inspire and empower millions of restaurants by taking their business to the next level.
Role
Who you are
- We're looking for you! Master of integrations that loves connecting systems, well architected software, observability, and wants to make a difference in the restaurants sector
- If you’re excited by ownership, autonomy, and building technology that directly impacts real businesses every day, this is the right moment to join
- 👉 3+ years of engineering experience in scaling SaaS companies
- 👉 Experience building and maintaining different kinds of integrations
- 👉 Good judgement for data modelling, system design, and software arquitecture patterns. Experience with microservices or modular monoliths recommended
- 👉 Very good use of AI tooling: you have developed good judgement (criterio) when using IA and are very productive with it
- 👉 Fluent in Spanish and comfortable in English. We tend to speak in Spanish at the office and in Slack, and write documentation and projects in English
What the job involves
- At haddock, integrations are a pillar of our success. Through integrations, we can aggregate data from their restaurant businesses, and then our AI Agents and our customers can obtain insights and make decisions
- Integrations with ERPs, Point of Sale, and other sources of information are a foundational piece of haddock. Since there are always new integrations we want to make to improve our product, and also an integrations backlog of systems from new customers that we want to serve, we're in the process of becoming really good at integrating
- Besides, we are highly AI empowered in terms of implementing and maintaining integrations. And we want to be much more. The integrations squad eventually will orchestrate lots of AI agents to scope, assess and implement new integrations, while also focusing on scalability, relaibility, data modeling and cost effective arquitecture design
- Eventually, the Integrations squad will become a stable team with an engineering lead / manager. If you've already had this experience and want to continue doing it, great! If not, come aboard and we'll grow you into a lead
- ➡️ Example work:
- Orchestrating an agent to implement an integration with a new Point of Sale, such as SumUp, or improving it to support new features
- Refactoring the data schema for storing orders to add support for tips in Italy
- Scoping how we could integrate with an accounting ERP, such as A3
- Building observability tooling for integration data pipelines
- Creating user flows, maybe powered by AI, to smooth out as much as possible the manual process of connecting haddock with another software
- Come on board while we're still a startup. It's much more fun and motivating than joining an already established scale up or corporation where your role is very defined and limited!
- This is more than a job. It’s a chance to leave your mark on an industry that’s ripe for transformation. Our best perk is our work environment and the opportunities you'll get to learn and grow at haddock
Application process
- We move fast and communicate openly. Our goal is to wrap up the process within a week. Here's what to expect:
- Intro call with Guillermo (Head of Technology), 25 mins
- Call with Pol (co-founder, CEO), 25 mins
- Technical interviews with Guillermo and another engineer (2 hours). Part 1: architectural solution thinking, and part 2: AI-assisted live coding of an MVP
- Final call with Arnau (co-founder, CEO), 25 mins
- Sounds like an opportunity? Apply now. We’d love to meet you
- 💬 We answer all applications that include a personalized message or cover letter
- Contact: Guillermo de la Puente, Head of Technology – Product
Our take
In the restaurant industry, cost control is an essential aspect of maintaining a profit. By successfully managing the costs of food, labour, and overhead expenses, restaurants can optimise their margins and increase profitability. Many restaurants look to SaaS companies to provide them with specialised software solutions that save management valuable time and help them stay on top of the competitive restaurant industry.
Barcelona-based Haddock is helping restaurants improve their margins thanks to real-time cost control. Through the use of AI, Haddock is making it easy for customers to digitise documents as well as export data to make better decisions and optimise their business.
Haddock has witnessed steady growth since its inception in 2020 and is now home to over 1,000 customers. Accepted into the Y Combinator accelerator programme in 2021, the startup has since gone on to open new offices and make way for new employees for a promising future in restaurant software.
