Role
Who you are
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including 3+ years in infrastructure, platform, or developer productivity roles
- Deep expertise in one or more of: CI/CD systems, build/test automation, internal tooling, or configuration management
- Proficient in at least one high-level language (e.g., Python, Go, Java)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
- Strong systems thinking and ability to design reliable, maintainable solutions at scale
- Proven track record of technical leadership and cross-team collaboration
Desirable
- Experience working in a monorepo or polyrepo environment at scale
- Familiarity with Bazel, Buck, or other modern build systems
- Experience with metrics-driven engineering and observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
What the job involves
- We’re seeking a highly senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering Productivity team
- In this role, you will lead initiatives that accelerate developer velocity, improve build and test systems, and enable our engineers to deliver high-quality software at scale
- You will work cross-functionally with product engineering, and infrastructure to build internal tools and platforms that optimize the entire software development lifecycle
- This is a high-impact role for an experienced engineer who is passionate about developer productivity, enjoys solving systems-level problems, mentoring others, and leading complex, cross-team initiatives
- Lead architecture and development of scalable systems that improve build, test, and deployment pipelines
- Identify and remove bottlenecks in the developer experience, from local development to CI/CD
- Design and build internal tools, services, and frameworks that enable fast and safe code delivery
- Own reliability, performance, and scalability of key developer infrastructure systems
- Drive adoption of modern engineering tools, metrics, and observability across the org
- Mentor and guide other engineers through technical design reviews, pair programming, and code reviews
- Advocate for engineering best practices and help shape the future of our platform architecture

Instabase is a platform for businesses to build customisable apps for automating different parts of their business.
For example, a bank can quickly build an app that can automatically verify customer income in a fraction of a second by combing through documents such as camera pictures or scans of payslips, tax documents, bank statements, and other similar documents submitted by the customer.
The platform comes equipped with the tools for reading documents, data extraction and classification, natural language processing, and optical character recognition. It's designed to enable creators, developers, and organizations to quickly build complex business applications based on their needs.
Instabase also offers an app store, a growing marketplace of pre-packaged business apps for different industries, such as Income Verification, Adverse Media Analysis, Identity Verification, Trade Finance, Contract Analysis, and Financial Spreading.
