Who you are

5+ years of relevant experience as a Data Analyst
Advantage for experience as a Product Data Analyst/business analyst
Degree in Engineering/Mathematics/Statistics/Information Systems or equivalent
Great knowledge of the following tools is a must:
SQL at a high level
BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, Sigma, Sisense, PowerBI, AWS QuickSight or other
Warehouse/data lake tools such as Redshift/ BigQuery/ Snowflake/ Athena/ Databricks Unity Catalog
Experience in Python - an advantage
Experience in Spark - an advantage
AWS Cloud
Able to work in a dynamic environment and with tight deadlines
Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to accuracy

What the job involves

Your mission. Analyze OpenWeb terabytes of data and build various types of tools and reports
Product-Centric Insights. Build tools and reports that can help deliver insights to relevant stakeholders/ several verticals within the company with a specific focus on supporting the different teams
Reporting. Build insightful tools, dashboards and complex reports
Decision-Support. Be involved in key decision points and assist various teams in making thoughtful, data-driven decisions
Define KPIs and provide business insights
Data-Leadership. Set the standard for best practices and suggest new processes/ tools/ initiatives to collect, analyze, and manage our massive amounts of data

Our take

Audience engagement through comment sections is hugely important to the traffic of online publishers. However, this engagement usually happens on various social media platforms as opposed to the online publishing website itself.

OpenWeb provides online engagement platforms that enable publishers to bring the power of social media to their own websites. These discussion tools help increase the amount of time users spend on the actual website, as opposed to commenting on content through external social media sites.

Social media platforms such as Facebook already provide similar tools that embed comment sections on online publishing websites. However, Openweb designs its tools to facilitate productive discussion, filtering out toxic commentary and favoring high-quality comments.

Currently, OpenWeb works with more than 3,000 publishers, such as Forbes, Newsweek and Refinery29, and hosts 120 million monthly active users. Despite leadership disputes in 2024, the company continues to expand its global presence and is working on strategic acquisitions to further enhance its product offerings.
