Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of professional experience as a full-stack engineer
- Deep experience with Django, Django REST Framework, and Postgres
- Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript and frontend frameworks like React and Typescript, Svelte is a plus
- Comfort building, maintaining, and scaling APIs, databases, and frontend UIs
- Strong grasp of software design principles, testing, and debugging
- Familiarity with basics of DevOps like CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure (we use AWS)
- Clear communicator and collaborator with a product mindset
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, ownership-driven environment
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to contribute to high-impact projects across our platform. You’ll contribute to building user-facing web apps in React and Svelte, mobile apps in React Native, and APIs and backend logic in Django and Django REST Framework
- You’ll play a central role in shaping our architecture, scaling our systems, and delivering high-quality products for both drivers and real estate owners
- This is a high-leverage role with impact across the business and plenty of room to grow
- Lead end-to-end development of key features and services across our stack
- Build and maintain performant APIs using Django and Django REST Framework
- Design efficient data models and optimize queries in Postgres
- Create seamless, responsive frontend interfaces with React, Svelte, and SvelteKit
- Collaborate closely with product, design, operations, and the founders to scope, implement, and ship features
- Make technical decisions around architecture, frameworks, testing, and deployment
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code
- Perform thoughtful code reviews and mentor teammates
- Optimize for performance, scalability, and maintainability at every level
Our take
The parking industry has long adhered to traditional practices, relying on attendants and disparate payment and management systems. However, AirGarage is changing the landscape by providing software and management services to parking lot and garage owners. With its all-encompassing approach spanning from signage installation to payment handling and even parking enforcement.
One of AirGarage's key innovations is its revenue-sharing model, offering property owners a favorable 70-30 split and full transparency on earnings. This approach addresses the longstanding issue of parking managers reaping their share of revenue, leading property owners with just a fraction of the income generated by their spaces. With over 200 locations across 30 states under its management, AirGarage has become a pivotal player in reshaping the parking industry.
In 2021 the company closed its Series A funding round. That capital injection has gone towards expanding its software and services, catering not only to personal vehicle parking but also accommodating food trucks and cloud kitchens in need of parking and storage solutions. The future looks promising for AirGarage as it continues to modernize and streamline an industry ripe for technological transformation.
