Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- 1+ years of demonstrated understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP)
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Infor Syteline, Coupa, or similar)
- The role will require familiarity with internal controls and processes over all accounting areas
- This position requires applicants to be either U.S. Persons (i.e., U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent U.S. resident (green card holder), an individual granted asylum in the U.S.
- Or an individual admitted in U.S. refugee status) or persons eligible to obtain an export license from the U.S. Departments of State, Commerce, or other applicable U.S
Desirable
- 3+ years of demonstrated cost accounting & manufacturing operations experience (experience with job costing, bill of materials & Inventory movements, as examples)
- 3+ years of accounting experience within the aerospace, or new-space industry
- 4+ years of demonstrated understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP)
- Experience or coursework in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger support
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential information
- Progress toward a professional accounting certification (CPA) is a plus
What the job involves
- As an Accountant at Impulse, you will create processes and procedures to prepare and maintain the accounting and financial records in accordance with US GAAP
- This role will report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager
- Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and close processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Lead and support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit documentation
- Manage and improve accounting processes, controls, and systems
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Analyze financial results and explain variances to management
- Coordinate tax preparation and filings with internal teams or external advisors
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains
- Support special accounting projects and system implementations as needed
