Automation Engineer, 1X

• This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives on first-principles thinking and detailed technical execution
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
• Strong grasp of core mechanical engineering principles such as statics, dynamics, stress analysis, and power transmission
• Experience in designing and/or testing electromechanical systems
• Proficiency in CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and basic understanding of GD&T
• Familiarity with sensors, actuators, and data acquisition tools
• Ability to analyze test data using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools
• Strong documentation and communication skills

• We are seeking a Robotics Test Engineer to join our team at the Hayward manufacturing facility
• In this role, you will focus on mechanical and electromechanical validation of our humanoid robots, ensuring their reliability, safety, and performance through rigorous sub-system and end-to-end testing
• You will design test plans, build custom test setups, execute experiments, and collaborate across hardware and software teams to resolve system-level issues
• Design and build electromechanical test setups based on subsystem requirements and validation objectives
• Apply mechanical engineering principles to develop test methodologies that uncover risks and failure modes
• Execute mechanical and functional tests for humanoid subsystems (e.g. , limbs, joints, enclosures) and analyze results
• Collect, process, and interpret test data using Python, MATLAB, or equivalent tools
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation of test plans, results, procedures, and findings
• Identify root causes of failures and work with engineering teams to implement corrective actions
• Support continuous improvement of validation strategies, fixtures, and data collection systems
• Assist in creating scalable test processes for manufacturing and field deployments
