Role
Who you are
- This individual will be proficient in agile/scrum as well as traditional waterfall models
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT project management
- Proven hands-on experience in both project execution and technical tasks
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve technical issues effectively
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets; experience with Jira or other project management tools is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- A proactive “can-do” mindset and ideally, a “can-do-even-better” approach to continuous improvement
- Flexibility to work across multiple time zones as needed
- Fluency in English, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Cantonese is an asset; native proficiency is a strong plus
What the job involves
- We are looking for a technical project manager to support the Director of Project Management by driving projects including managing new store openings, existing store maintenance, and internal IT initiatives utilising industry best practices in project management
- The technical project manager will collaborate with internal business partners, technical resources, and external vendors to ensure projects are defined and all objectives are delivered
- Partner with the Director of Project Management to oversee product testing, deployment, and release management, ensuring all rollouts meet the highest quality standards
- Maintain the product testing environment, including equipment and devices, to enable thorough, efficient, and timely testing
- Manage and execute software and hardware deployments across all store locations, collaborating closely with store teams and the development team for smooth system updates
- Develop clear, comprehensive documentation, including business and operational requirements, process flow diagrams, user manuals, training materials, deployment guides, and troubleshooting resources
- Act as a liaison between the Store & Operations Team and the Deployment Team to identify gaps, address misalignments, and improve coordination
- Track and manage issues, working with the development team to identify solutions that enhance overall product reliability
Our take
Virtual Reality has existed for decades now, but even recent developments in the technology lack essential factors such as physical immersion and social interaction. Existing VR systems are dominated by sit-down single-player setups, and more immersive experiences are generally expensive and limited spatially.
Sandbox VR operates physical virtual reality spaces for customers to enjoy a multiplayer gaming experience within. The startup aims to produce a content ecosystem to compete with existing VR developers for legacy consoles, combatting the expensive technology costs by charging per usage within a fixed location.
Whilst VR is breaking into the mainstream video game console landscape, Sandbox VR stands out by providing an affordable opportunity to test technology that is too impractical and costly for home experiences. Furthermore, the unique approach to multi-player and physical-space-focused VR demonstrates the potential to maintain interest in an industry that consumers have high expectations of.
