Who you are
- The ideal candidate has experience working with B2C financial data, building robust reporting frameworks, and leveraging tools like SQL and Tableau to deliver high-quality analytics
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or management consulting
- Strong SQL skills with experience in writing efficient, scalable queries
- Proficiency with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI
- Experience analyzing financial data and working closely with Finance teams
- Exceptional ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights for executive and senior leadership decision-making
- Strong project management skills, with a proven track record of collaborating cross-functionally with engineers, analysts, and finance stakeholders to drive data initiatives forward
Desirable
- Experience in B2C or marketplace business models
- Familiarity with dbt and modern data transformation best practices
- Background in financial modeling, FP&A, or corporate finance analytics
What the job involves
- Lime is hiring a Senior Data Analyst to join our Data Science & Analytics team
- In this role, you will report to the Manager of Analytics Engineering & BI and serve as the primary liaison between our Finance and Data teams
- You will be responsible for transforming complex data from multiple sources into actionable insights that directly impact Lime’s financial strategy and decision-making
- As we transition to a more structured, high-performing organization, we need someone who can bring data and finance closer together—ensuring that our most critical insights reach the right stakeholders
- This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping how decisions are made at Lime, driving long-term business success
- Serve as the primary data partner of the Finance team, proactively creating and surfacing analysis and insights to support financial planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics tools in Tableau
- Build, optimize, and automate SQL queries and data transformations to power financial reporting pipelines
- Conduct deep-dive analyses on financial trends, business performance, and key drivers impacting Lime’s bottom line
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to integrate and standardize financial data from various sources
- Ensure data integrity, governance, and documentation to support reliable financial reporting
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to enhance financial data workflows
- Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring insights drive action
Our take
In recent years, electric-powered mobility companies have attracted an extraordinary amount of interest and funding, in part due to rising eco-friendly sentiment, and in part because of the race to "find the next Uber". Lime is one such company, that has rapidly scaled across multiple geographies to be a key player in the fight for market leadership.
Lime, along with its competitors, has had to grapple with regulation in many of its target markets, but nonetheless has steadily increased its footprint. Since its launch, the company has facilitated millions of trips, making it one of the biggest companies of its kind. Interestingly, the CEO has stated that "cars are our true business rivals—not other scooter companies", suggesting that its biggest business challenge will be to get families to give up their second cars.
With a presence that spans an impressive number of regions - most recently Lime has begun operating in Qatar - the company has cemented itself in the micromobility market, and stands to profit from the increasing popularity of these types of services. Across 2022, a substantial increase in ridership enabled Lime to achieve a "full profitable year", with suggestions it will pursue an IPO in the near future.
