Who you are

12+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and/or software development
4+ years in a management or technical lead role
Experience in managing large scale, highly available cloud infrastructure
Expertise in designing and evangelizing secure deployment policies, procedures, and processes
Experience helping to make technical decisions and providing guidance to solve problems
Basic familiarity with GCP, Kubernetes, and/or terraform, or comparable solutions
Knowledge on providing technical support for security and compliance audits
A great communicator who can succinctly explain complex technical concepts
Availability for participation in on-call rotation, ensuring prompt and effective responses to business-critical alerts outside of regular working hours
Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time

What the job involves

We are looking for a Senior Engineer Manager who will bring operational maturity, subject-matter expertise, and a strong drive to make an impact
You will report to the Head of Infrastructure and will be responsible for successful delivery of Infrastructure roadmap objectives, with the goal of providing a self-service platform that allows product developers to independently operate Calendly’s services
Ensuring the productivity, career development, and satisfaction of your teams
Enhancing our infrastructure offering by applying industry best practices and processes
Brainstorming solutions to - and refining the scope of - your team’s infrastructure work
Coaching, mentoring and onboarding new team members
Identifying and coordinating incident response, security reviews, and infrastructure training
Identifying future technical needs and creating plans to meet them
Overseeing cross-functional initiatives with the engineering organization, and evangelize operational best practices
Providing input to help us continuously grow and improve

Our take

Calendly is a cloud-based scheduling service that is straightforward to use. It allows around 10 million customers per month to connect and make appointments based on their availability without having to send emails back and forth.

The platform offers four plans, allowing individuals, small companies, and large enterprises alike to make use of these services. Organic strategies have driven Calendly's growth. Its invites become links to Calendly itself, so people who like it can, and do, start to use it.

There are a handful of competing products on the market, including offerings from Doodle and Microsoft, but Calendly's customer-friendly design has won it attention and helped it to carve a space in the field. Impressive funding has contributed to the company's expansion, and its capitalised on the increasing popularity of home and hybrid working.
