Role
Who you are
- 7+ years of relevant experience (e.g. Investor Relations, Equity Research, Investment Banking); at least a year within a corporate finance organization
- Polished communication skills and comfort working with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership and external partners
- Ability to digest large amount of quantitative and qualitative data and synthesize in clear fashion
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-starter with a desire to quickly learn and excel; willing and able to start, oversee and complete projects with minimal supervision
Desirable
- Ideally this candidate has previous experience in Investor Relations
- Tech industry experience is a plus
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are a must
- Experience working with IR Insight, FactSet and/or other investor relations platforms is preferred
- Experience working with Mode, SQL, PowerBi, or similar is a plus but not required
What the job involves
- This role reports to the Director of Investor Relations and will work closely with the VP of Investor Relations, Capital Markets and Treasury
- The team is responsible for managing analyst & investor relationships with the Street and driving the company’s external narrative
- This analyst will also need to work collaboratively with many other cross-functional teams Instacart
- Analyze and summarize industry, competitor and valuation information and perspectives from the investment community
- Collect, analyze and present of investors' feedback, analysts' positions and summaries, relative stock price movements, and periodic ownership analysis
- Monitor consensus estimates to identify the drivers of movements and analyze potential implications vs. our external outlook of the business
- Assist with shareholder engagement activities including non-deal roadshows, in-house meetings, and conference appearances
- Collaborate with the cross-functional teams to help ensure that all external and internal communications are integrated and consistent
- Work closely with finance team to analyze financial results and compile important statistics and other relevant information for use during the quarterly earnings announcement and conference call as well as throughout the quarter during regular discussions with investors
- Own day-to-day operations for the IR program, such as maintenance of IR website and monitoring of investor inbox, and develop process improvements to help the team operate more efficiently

Instacart is an online grocery marketplace that operates a pick-up and delivery system in the US and Canada. Unlike standard grocery shopping, Instacart sends a “personal shopper” to your local store to buy your products, who then delivers them straight to your door on the same day via their own car. The company also supplies the Instacart Platform, with services for stores encompassing eCommerce, fulfilment, in-store, ads, and insights.
The increased modernization of society has meant more than ever that consumers are looking to buy their groceries online, making space for apps like Instacart to become daily life staples for years to come. Although the company must compete with other grocery store delivery services, such as Walmart’s own, it has expanded to cover large percentages of US and Canadian households, and is now aligned with over 900 retail banners across more than 75,000 locations.
Instacart's software offerings signify the company's focus on tech, designed to move it away from its dependence on the gig economy. To this end, the company has acquired FoodStorm, an order management system that powers end-to-end order-ahead and catering, integrating its technology into its enterprise suite. Despite an IPO in September 2023, market downturns have necessitated a 7% workforce cut in 2024, focused on middle management and creating a flatter organisational structure. With a new streamlined workforce, here's to hoping Instacart can maintain its momentum.
