Role
Who you are
- We are seeking an experienced, all-around DevOps engineer with a strong software programming background
- The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between development and operations, implementing and managing our DevOps practices while leveraging their programming expertise to automate and optimize our systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles
- Strong programming skills with a focus on Python
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Proficiency in version control systems, particularly Git
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI)
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols
- Experience with monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack)
Desirable
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Knowledge of additional programming languages (e.g., Go, Java, JavaScript)
- Familiarity with database management and optimization
- Experience with serverless technologies
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator)
- Contributions to open-source projects
What the job involves
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps tools and practices
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Create and optimize automation scripts and tools using Python
- Implement and manage containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements for scalability and reliability
- Collaborate with development teams to improve code quality, testing, and deployment processes
- Implement security best practices across our infrastructure and applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, testing, and production environments
- Mentor junior team members and promote DevOps best practices across the organization
