Who you are

4+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in fast-paced or startup settings
Enjoy blending engineering with customer interaction, like a solutions architect or forward-deployed engineer

What the job involves

This is a unique opportunity for an engineer who loves building product and working directly with customers
You’ll alternate between shipping production-ready features and partnering with customers to support their integration and success with Orb, collaborating closely with Customer Success to understand goals, guide technical setup, and unblock challenges
Along the way, you’ll write custom logic or tooling as needed and turn those insights into scalable product improvements with the broader Engineering team
Guide technical implementation during customer onboarding and unblock complex workflows
Build custom tools and integrations, then evolve them into core product features
Identify patterns in customer needs and inform the product roadmap with real-world insights
Contribute across the stack to ship features and enhance internal tools
Collaborate across teams to deliver a seamless end-to-end customer experience
Increase customer team efficiency by automating manual processes

Our take

Orb founders Morales and Grover worked together as engineering leaders at Asana for five years, and during their time at the company they witnessed a plethora of changes to pricing and packing. The major changes were a burden not only for the financing team, but for the engineers themselves.

Realizing they wanted more flexibility over how software-as-a-service (SaaS) products are billed and monetized, the pair developed Orb. It's a cloud-based software platform helping businesses create and manage pricing models, with a specific focus on helping businesses that are seeking flexible pricing options for their customers, such as subscription-based services or pay-as-you-go models.

Orb is backed by a number of investment organizations as well as founders and executives at the forefront of enterprise software. It expanded its team in 2023 and is now well-equipped to fulfil its vision of leveraging software so companies can be at their most effective.
