Who you are
- We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in the dynamic environment of a startup
- BS in Finance or Accounting or related field
- 4+ years of relevant experience in SaaS or Start Up environment
- Proficiency in Workday required
- Experience with multi-subsidiaries and global payroll
- Experience using HRIS systems and payroll processors such as\Rippling and Vistra
- Extremely detail oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role, with a strong understanding of payroll procedures and tax regulations
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Familiarity with account reconciliation processes and general ledger maintenance
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel preferred
What the job involves
- Join Honeycomb as a Payroll Specialist and be a key player in our exciting global expansion!
- Reporting directly to the Controller, you’ll have a pivotal role in shaping our payroll operations
- Maintain, review and validate data for US payroll, Canada Payroll, UK Payroll, and additional Employer of Record payrolls
- Process payments for final paychecks, adjustments and special pay
- Heavily assist in smooth transition from Rippling and implementation of Workday
- Process and approve employee expense reports in alignment with the Company Purchase & Expense Policy
- Manage Navan, formerly Tripactions, travel platform for employees
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and company policies
- Maintain accrued PTO Schedules for applicable subsidiaries in accordance with local laws
- Audit payroll tax records
- Participate in audits for 401k, Workers Compensation, and general audit
- Create and maintain process documentation and internal controls
- Conduct account reconciliation to verify payroll data against financial records
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies or concerns in a timely manner
- Stay updated on tax regulations and compliance requirements affecting payroll processes
- Provide standard and ad-hoc payroll reports to various internal departments such as Finance and People Teams, as well as provide commentary on flux and trends

However, whilst cloud-based development presents a modern and unified solution to application building, frameworks for troubleshooting such services are not currently something many businesses are prepared for.
Honeycomb provides troubleshooting tools that allow cloud-based software developers to observe code on API tools, live applications, and microservices. The troubleshooting dashboard is designed to be highly visual and user-friendly, thus allowing developers to diagnose cloud-based problems without having a deep understanding of computer science.
The company is building on its 2022 momentum after achieving another consecutive year of 2x revenue growth, driving 160% net revenue retention for its 600+ customers around the globe. Series D awarded in 2023 will be channelled into geographical expansion and supporting its products. Honeycomb’s approach is unique as it is facilitating the harmonious deployment of cloud-based debugging tools in a landscape where such services are essential yet difficult to understand.
