Who you are
- >3 years of HR experience in a generalist or senior generalist role
- Experience working at a startup or fast-growing company
- Strong operational HR background (onboarding, compliance, leave, employee relations)
- Experience supporting a multi-state workforce
- Comfortable being highly employee-facing and working directly with teams, not
- Just handling HR work behind the scenes
- Comfortable moving fast and adjusting as priorities change
- Practical, low-ego, and solutions-oriented
- Strong judgment - knows when to escalate and when to act
- Clear communicator who can explain complex topics simply
- Calm under pressure and trusted by managers and employees
- Willing to execute day-to-day work, not just design processes
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Senior HR Generalist to help build and support HR at Standard Bots
- This is a hands-on role for someone who moves fast, embraces ambiguity, and isn’t afraid to build processes while actively using them
- You’ll be deeply involved in the day-to-day employee experience, partner closely with managers, and help keep our people operations aligned with a growing business
- Assist with end-to-end onboarding and offboarding for employees across
- Engineering, hardware, operations, and go-to-market teams
- Maintain administrative access to core systems and own user access management
- Maintain clean, accurate employee records across HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems
- Manage and process hourly employee timecards accurately and on time
- Respond to issues as they arise with care, urgency, and practical problem-solving
- Act as the liaison between employees and our leave management platform, monitoring
- Ongoing leave cases
- Serve as the contact for employee and manager questions around leave eligibility, timing, and pay
- Coordinate with benefits providers, and external partners (e.g., Justworks)
- Stay on top of multi-state employment laws and adapt processes as requirements change
- Assist with workers’ compensation claims and requests as needed
- Develop and maintain HR policies and standard operating procedures that accurately reflect Standard Bots’ operating practices
- Build lightweight processes that scale - knowing when structure is needed and when flexibility matters more
- Build strong, trusted relationships with managers across technical and non-technical teams
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee and manager inquiries across all levels of the organization, responding in a timely manner and fostering strong, trusted relationships
- Support consistent expectations across teams while respecting different management styles
- Support benefits administration and open enrollment
- Help evaluate, implement, and improve HR tools as the company grows
- Act as liaison and triage ad-hoc employee benefits inquiries

Our take
In recent years, the field of robotics has brought to life ideas that once belonged to the world of sci-fi. But, robots are still extremely complex to program, making the automations they facilitate out of reach for many businesses.
Standard Bots is setting out to change this, with AI-powered robots and a complementary robotics platform that means they can be programmed through simple demonstrations. This approach should broaden the accessibility of robots to businesses of all sizes, enabling them to employ automations that can give them a competitive edge.
It's an intriguing proposition, and investors agree, with the company raising substantial funding to support its mission. Standard Bots plans to use these funds to expand its engineering team and speed up the development of its robots. The company will, however, likely need to contend with competition from inexpensive robots from China as it develops into the future.
