Who you are
- You’re an experienced product manager who thrives in ambiguous, high-ownership environments and is excited to build foundational systems that shape how customers discover, adopt, and grow with brightwheel
- You believe in smaller, empowered teams that move quickly, and are energized by large, cross-cutting problems where AI, product-led growth (PLG), and customer experience intersect — and where success meaningfully impacts company-level outcomes
- A product leader who has owned important product areas and initiatives end-to-end
- Excited to build product-led systems that help customers discover value, adopt capabilities, and grow with the platform
- AI-forward — you actively use AI to increase leverage and have experience shipping or evolving AI-powered product experiences
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity, defining problems, and driving execution with clarity
- Fluent in experimentation, metrics, and learning loops
- A strong cross-functional leader who can influence without authority and move teams toward outcomes
- A boundaryless builder — you prototype, automate, design, and ship using AI as your co-builder to turn problems into durable solutions that deliver customer value with urgency and care
- 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in SaaS or product-led businesses
- Proven ownership of complex, cross-functional product initiatives with measurable outcomes
- Strong product judgment and the ability to balance speed, quality, and learning
- Deep comfort with product metrics, experimentation, and funnel analysis (SQL a plus)
- Experience building or scaling AI-powered product experiences
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including with executive audiences
- A strong sense of ownership and bias toward action
- Experience leveraging AI to expand your own scope and ownership, using tools and automation to move faster, go deeper, and operate more like a full-stack product owner across problem discovery, design, and execution (bonus)
What the job involves
- This is an individual contributor role with significant scope and exposure. You will own a core product area and partner directly with our CEO and CTO to deliver product experiences that matter to the business and to our customers. You’ll:
- Own a high-impact product area that meaningfully contributes to brightwheel’s growth and customer outcomes
- Partner closely with the CEO, CTO, and senior product and engineering leaders to share insights, pressure-test ideas, and shape direction
- Define and evolve product-led systems that help customers realize value faster and more consistently across the platform
- Lead execution for AI-powered product experiences, partnering closely with engineering, design, data, and GTM teams
- Translate broader company and product strategy into clear bets, roadmaps, and execution plans for your area
- Design, run, and learn from experiments to validate hypotheses and guide prioritization
- Define success metrics, monitor performance, and clearly communicate progress, learnings, and tradeoffs to leadership
- Raise the bar for product quality, velocity, and customer impact within your area
Our take
Childcare and teaching is a profession fraught with pressures and paperwork and yet it remains relatively ill attended to by advances in tech and software. Brightwheel want to revolutionize this, focusing on facilitating the administrative and communicative relationship between schools, carers and parents or guardians.
As tech enters the classrooms there are various apps focusing on the education itself with fewer actually handling the communications for schools. Brightwheel's platform helps increase parental and teacher engagement with students everyday, while helping small education businesses save money, time, and to grow.
Brightwheel is carving out a name for itself as a service valuable for its exciting and useful new updates. It was quick to adapt to school closures too by offering distance learning capabilities and health testing. And on top of this, it also caters to childcare in lower-income areas with a freemium model. Making its a go-to platform for early education.
