What the job involves
- Aviva are looking for a dynamic Principal Data Scientist to support our Global Corporate & Speciality (GCS) Team! The insurance industry is evolving in an age of rapid technological development, and as an organisation Aviva are investing in strengthening machine learning and analytics as a distinctive capability
- The team you will be joining is recognised as a centre of excellence in our Global Data Science Department and we have ambitious plans to grow GCS and provide expert support for our customers in an ever-changing world
- Working in partnership with the GCS leadership team you will be accountable for the design and delivery of successful AI solutions across GCS. You will ensure that robust solutions are available to support decision making across the business, provide thought leadership around advanced analytics and AI development and ensure that GCS has the capabilities needed to achieve its ambitions
- Importantly, you will also play a critical role in Nova – our end-to-end business transformation programme, of which data and AI are key priorities. This role will play an active and crucial role in the design, delivery and adoption of the new data vision for GCS. Building and executing AI strategy in support of GCS priorities, gaining leadership team support and aligning to broader Aviva standards and principles

In the wake of a Pensions Dashboard Programme delay in the UK, Aviva is in the running to take over the programme thanks to its pre-existing private systems. This exemplifies Aviva’s renewed focus on the fintech sector, all whilst playing national analyst during the cost of living crisis thanks to its annual Age of Ambiguity study.
