Senior Solutions Engineer, BlackSky Global

• The ideal candidate will have a combination of expertise across a broad set of technical areas including satellites, Electro-Optical payloads, ground systems, space communications, software development, customer solutions, program scheduling and costing, and industry partnerships, including a strong background in technical sales
• The candidate must be a proven self-starter, highly organized, and have an ability to balance competing priorities in resource constrained environments
• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
• At least ten (10) years of relevant experience with five (5) years’ experience in the remote sensing industry or Geospatial industry
• Strong knowledge of satellite ground system architectures and design of satellite ground systems
• Demonstrated understanding of interfaces, system specifications and capability requirements
• Strong knowledge of the architecture and design of multi-INT systems
• Concepts of Operations and documenting functional and performance requirements
• Good customer teaming and customer facing skills; ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams

Desirable

• We are seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer with the primary responsibility to lead the technical sales engagement for our current and future Constellation-as-a-Service program
• This position reports within the Global Sales and reports up to the Global Head of Solutions Engineering
• The Solution Engineering role will routinely collaborate across a diverse set of technical and business leaders within the Sales Office / Solutions Engineering including the Chief Technology office and across other offices
• Serve as the primary contact for Satellite (Constellation/Sovereign) technical sales
• Manage technical sales engagements with customers and international partners
• Act as liaison between technical and non-technical departments, facilitating cross-team collaboration and understanding
• Collaborate with business managers and technical groups to address important customer issues and find innovative solutions to difficult problems
• Prepare technical and cost proposal for RFP’s and RFI’s to ensure contact award
• International travel as needed to support discussions / technical requirement gathering / sales activities
