What the job involves
- We are seeking a Vice President of Consumer Products to lead sales, marketing, and business development for Blockstream’s consumer-oriented portfolio
- This senior leadership role will drive go-to-market execution, build new distribution channels, and ensure the profitability and growth of Blockstream’s consumer products
- Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will be responsible for strategy, execution, and cross-functional coordination to ensure Blockstream continues to lead the industry in consumer-facing Bitcoin adoption
- Sales and Business Development: Lead all sales and business development activities for Blockstream’s consumer products, expanding adoption and market share
- Pricing Strategy: Define and implement pricing models that align with profitability targets and long-term growth goals
- Channel Development: Build new sales channels and affiliate programs to broaden reach and distribution
- Demand Generation: In partnership with marketing, drive growth initiatives that generate demand, leads, and conversions for Blockstream consumer products
- Brand Awareness: In collaboration with cross-functional teams, create awareness of consumer products across target market segments through PR, marketing campaigns, partnerships, and technical evangelism
- Product Input: Serve as a primary source of market and customer requirements to guide product enhancements and new offerings
- Strategic Alignment: Partner with engineering, product, marketing, and business development teams to align product, brand, and market strategies
- Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the success of the consumer business unit

Bitcoin’s blockchain shows great potential to form the future foundation of financial infrastructure. However, working in advanced areas such as Bitcoin mining, asset issuance, and the Lightning Network goes beyond the fundamental framework, and requires expensive assistance from blockchain engineers. Blockstream develops technology to make it easier for businesses and individuals to make use of the Bitcoin blockchain, opening it up to a wider range of users.
Blockstream's offerings include tech to help people utilize advanced technology within the Bitcoin blockchain, including microtransactions on the Lightning Network, enterprise-class Bitcoin miner hosting, and layer-2 digital asset issuance. The company also provides Blockstream Satellite, a technology that leverages satellites to stream blockchain transactions without the internet, preventing them from being disrupted by connection loss.
Whilst the technology Blockstream is facilitating access to already exists, the company has smartly recognized the inaccessibility of its advanced features, and found its niche in providing an easier way to work with the technology. Recently, the company raised significant investment that will enable it to expand its Bitcoin mining facilities - notably into Japan - amid increasing demand for large-scale hosting services.
