Role
Who you are
- Experience: 5+ years of software engineering experience, with deep professional experience building and deploying mobile applications
- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced knowledge of React Native and TypeScript
- Familiarity with the native mobile ecosystems (iOS/Swift and Android/Kotlin), specifically regarding build tools, native modules, and debugging native crashes
- Experience with state management, navigation libraries, native module integration, and functional programming principles
- Product Mindset: You care deeply about the end-user experience. You don't just write code; you partner with designers and product managers to refine requirements and advocate for high-quality UI/UX
- Craftsmanship: You write clean, testable, and maintainable code. You are comfortable writing unit and integration tests (e.g., Jest, Detox) and conducting thorough code reviews. You are comfortable with iterating frequently and avoid premature optimization
- Collaboration: You thrive on a full-stack, cross-functional team. You can effectively communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
What the job involves
- As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you will be a core member of one of our cross-functional product teams, working alongside Product Managers, Designers, and Backend Engineers to conceive, build, and ship new capabilities to our iOS and Android users
- While the Principal Engineer sets the high-level architecture, you will be the engine of execution and a technical leader within your squad. You will own the technical design and delivery of complex features, ensuring they are performant, reliable, and delightful to use. You will leverage React Native to move fast across platforms, while dipping into native code when necessary to ensure a world-class user experience
- Feature Delivery: Lead and implement the end-to-end technical implementation of major features on our mobile roadmap, taking them from concept to production on both the App Store and Google Play Store
- Technical Design: Break down product requirements into technical specifications and tasks. You will architect features that are scalable and align with Peerspace’s broader mobile architecture
- Quality & Performance: Ensure the application remains fast and stable. You will proactively monitor performance, fix bugs, and maintain high test coverage for your contributions
- Native Bridging: Write and maintain native code (Swift/Kotlin) when necessary to bridge the gap between React Native and platform-specific APIs
- Mentorship: Act as a technical mentor to mid-level and junior engineers on your team, fostering a culture of learning and engineering excellence through code reviews and pair programming
- Collaboration: Work closely with Backend Engineers to define API contracts and with Platform Engineers to improve our mobile CI/CD pipelines

Growing rapidly from the get go, Peerspace made its mission to find interesting spaces to market via it's site to encourage traffic from a certain demographic of creatives. The company’s 2023 rebrand has aligned the aesthetic of the company with its users. Fashion shoots, music videos and film shoots among other events like birthday parties are some of the exciting happenings inside the venues that Peerspace host on its site.
The company now stands as a leader in its market offering subscriptions like PeerspacePro which connects its agency partners to provide production crews with exclusive rentals and scouting support. The company’s customer base, including Disney, Netflix and Vogue as just a few of the household names to use the service. Now the company's tackling Houston as its next destination, so it will be exciting to see how this takes off and what's next for Peerspace.
