Who you are
- The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of iOS best practices, an eye for architecture and maintainability, and a drive to push the industry
- Experience building a modern iOS application from scratch
- Deep knowledge of Swift and SwiftUI
- Passion for building and maintaining consumer-facing mobile applications
- Open to working with multiple languages and platforms
- Capable of driving a feature through all stages of the software development lifecycle
- Works well in an ambiguous environment with dynamic requirements
- Writing and maintaining Unit and integration tests
What the job involves
- Driving the plug-in power behind Unreal Engine 5. We bridge connections for licensees and our own internal game teams to online services
- This allows games like Fortnite to utilize a combination of platform online services as well as Epic’s own online services to build cross-platform online feature
- Login, parties, voice chat, matchmaking, purchasing, cloud storage, and analytics are just a few examples of online features that our Online Game Services team helps games utilize
- Our team is composed of developers with a range of expertise across various mobile platforms and technologies
- We build robust high-quality applications that we put in players' hands across the globe
- Epic Games is searching for experienced iOS engineers to support the development of new exciting iOS applications that support Epic’s player and developer platforms
- In this role, you’ll work closely with a wide range of internal teams to build and ship a brand-new Epic experience for iOS from the ground up
- Additionally, you’ll work closely with other mobile platform developers and contribute to core multiplatform technologies
- Ensure the utilization of the latest mobile technology to build user-friendly high-performance mobile applications
- Design, review, and oversee the implementation of Epic’s latest endeavours in iOS
- Performance improvement and security hardening of applications and infrastructure
- Providing input for production/live release control process
- Communicate technical risks across the group

Epic's Unreal Engine technology brings high-fidelity, interactive experiences to PC, console, mobile, AR, VR and the Web. The release of next-generation consoles like the PS5 has enabled the company to push the limits of its software, meaning it'll lead the charge in the creation of next-gen games. 2024 also saw an unprecedented investment in Epic Games by Disney, amounting to $1.5B. This will enable Disney to promote iconic characters through the Fortnite game. With the number of people enjoying video games continuing to grow, there is no sign of Epic Games slowing down any time soon.
