Company mission
To solve AI alignment by tackling the real bottleneck: data quality.
Role
Who you are
- If you're early in your career, ambitious, curious, and not quite sure which part of the startup world you want to build your career in yet, this is a pretty great place to start
What the job involves
- We're looking for a Recruiting Engineer to help our recruiting team move faster
- This is a great entry point for someone who wants to learn how a high-growth startup actually works. You'll work across roles spanning Sales, Engineering, AI, Operations, Marketing, and leadership, getting exposure to different teams, levels, and problems across the business
- You'll source exceptional people, help run candidate onsites, experiment with new recruiting tools, improve how we work, and jump into whatever will help us hire faster
- You'll also build an incredible network along the way, meeting talented operators, engineers, salespeople, executives, and founders across the AI ecosystem
- Find and engage great candidates across technical and non-technical roles
- Research companies, industries, and talent markets
- Help run candidate interviews and onsite experiences
- Use AI, automation, and recruiting tools to make the team faster
- Keep recruiting processes organized and moving
- Work on roles across different teams and levels of seniority
- Jump into new projects wherever you can create leverage
- This is a chance to get a front-row seat to building a high-growth AI company
- You'll learn how different parts of a startup operate, work directly with people across the business, develop strong judgment around talent, and build a network that would normally take years to develop
Our take
It has become increasingly clear that the next generation of AI applications will be driven by data-centric approaches concentrated around training data creation, management, and evaluation. Crucial within this process is the annotation or 'labelling' of data. Traditionally, such annotation has been left to human workers, which has historically made this part of the process of AI development expensive, slow, and difficult to scale.
Encord offers a computer vision annotation platform that automates a number of manual labelling tasks. Its suite of tools is designed for collaboration across roles and teams, from domain-expert annotators to project managers and machine learning engineers. This allows companies to iterate 10x faster, and develop and deploy high performing models in less time whilst saving on annotation costs.
Demand is clearly there: since its launch in 2020, Encord has facilitated the annotation of more than 100 million frames and images and served customers in verticals such as medical imaging, smart cities, sports analytics and satellite imaging. Furthermore, usage is scaling rapidly, with the number of labels generated on the platform growing ~70% month-over-month.
