Role
Who you are
- 2+ years of product management experience
- Highly autonomous and thrives in taking ownership of complex, unscoped problems
- A relentless learner with a proven track record of diving deep into large, complex domains and becoming the go-to expert
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate a vision and drive execution across teams and stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills, using data to guide product intuition and decisions
- Bonus points for experience or a degree in software engineering or data science, building financial products, and/or managing and building large-scale data systems
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Garner does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a Product Manager to join our Payments team
- This role reports to the Director of Product Management
- At the core of our product is a financial incentive: we incentivize patients to visit top-performing providers by reimbursing them for their out-of-pocket expenses when they do
- The Payments team is responsible for building a verticalized payment ecosystem to deliver Garner’s incentive quickly and reliably across various payment rails
- You’ll be given wide-ranging responsibility for building and shaping our payments ecosystem, from member-facing products and experiences to internal tools for our payment operations team to our core payment system and accumulator
- Lead projects such as enabling patients to track their payments in real-time, integrating Garner with health savings accounts, and introducing faster, more convenient payment rails for member reimbursements
- Define and develop the payments roadmap, covering vendor integrations, new products and features, internal services, and data products
- Drive new feature development from start to finish: from ideation to solution design, development, launch, and iteration
- Define what success looks like, ensure we have the data in place to measure progress and rally the team around what winning looks like
Our take
An overworked US healthcare system has resulted in long waits and expensive prices. Due to rising costs, the health insurance industry often leads to patients not accessing the care that they need. Garner Health creates digital services that allow patients to find a medical expert that fits their specific needs, whatever their insurance circumstances are.
The startup provides an app that analyses local health-insurance claims history through AI. This data is used to recommend local medical professionals that will work with a patient's circumstances whilst providing direct communication channels for liaising. This helps patients to identify the highest-quality doctors and helps doctors improve how they practice medicine.
Despite other companies providing similar bespoke healthcare services, Garner Health shows a cutting edge by partnering with patient employers. This provides the financial incentive that employers must cover all or a portion of medical expenses, making healthcare financially accessible for all involved. The company has good funding at its back, and in 2022 partnered with Marathon Health towards reducing the inefficiencies of specialty referrals.
