Role
Who you are
- Our ideal candidate is highly creative and self-motivated, have experience in scaling social media accounts for brands or yourself, has excellent communication skills, and collaborates well with others
- 6+ years of social media experience in scaling organic accounts for a brand or yourself
- Strong video production skills, you’re fluent in-app creator tools across social platforms and know your way around a video editing software
- A sharp eye for social trends, even before they hit; ability to respond ASAP to trends to capitalize on those opportunities
- Great with people, you genuinely enjoy connecting with and growing a social media community
- Willing and able to relocate to Amsterdam, Netherlands
What the job involves
- The Growth & Marketing department is still a small team, but we doing big things
- You’ll take charge of our growing social media accounts Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, X etc
- We are seeking a creative Social Media Specialist who can grow our communities on these platforms
- As a core member of our growing Growth & Marketing team, you are someone who lives on the For You Page and understand how to create sharable content that engages, entertains, and inspires
- Evolve our Social Media strategy and short-form video strategy with an eye towards quantitative analysis, running lots of content experiments and iterate on the ones that work
- Create or oversee the creation of entertaining, iconic content for Polarsteps social media that people want to share
- Work on large-scale content campaigns from one-off creator campaigns to regular creative collaborations with our Polarsteps Pioneers
- Work cross-functionally to help promote different product features, launches and initiatives like HR initiatives, podcasts and partnerships

Polarsteps was founded by avid travellers who set out to automate well documented travel experiences for its first users. Now, it aims to be the go-to place for travel planning, tracking and blogging.
Basically, the company allows its users to enjoy the travel experience while taking care of the documentation. Travel innovation is not new, but Polarsteps sets itself apart because it works independent of mobile reception when needed - catering for long and remote travel experiences.
It is this promised convenience that secured the company's impressive customer growth. It has used this momentum to build larger teams and a more robust product offering to set it up as a leading travel app.
