Who you are
- 5+ years with React, TypeScript, and Tailwind
- Excellent written English—you’re as confident writing copy as writing code
- Hands-on experience building onboarding, documentation, or growth loops

- Today, nearly 200 people around the globe work on Speechify in a 100% distributed setting – Speechify has no office. These include frontend and backend engineers, AI research scientists, and others from Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, leading PhD programs like Stanford, high growth startups like Stripe, Vercel, Bolt, and many founders of their own companies
- We’re looking for a fast, product-minded engineer to own and ship onboarding flows, in-app guidance, product documentation, “what’s new” surfaces, and integrated support that makes Speechify Studio intuitive from day one
- You’ll operate at the intersection of UX, frontend, growth, and customer success
- You’ll build React + Tailwind components, wire up tools like Intercom, Amplitude, and OpenAI APIs, and drive a seamless experience for both new and returning users
- You’ll also connect analytics to our lifecycle and customer engagement tools—email, in-app messages, advertising—working closely with marketing to close the loop between product and growth
- Expect to own both the interface and the language inside it, ship fast, and iterate constantly
- Build and maintain user onboarding, in-app tours, and changelogs
- Create and keep up-to-date tutorials and product documentation
- Integrate support tools (Intercom bots, contextual FAQs, help surfaces)
- Connect analytics (Amplitude) to lifecycle tools (email, ads, CRM)
- Use OpenAI APIs to power dynamic product tips and smart helpers
- Polish UI with Tailwind, always aiming for clarity, speed, and brand alignment
- You’ll own critical surfaces that shape how users experience Speechify from day one
- You’ll ship often, work across product and marketing, and play a key role in helping us scale user satisfaction, retention, and growth

Our take
Speechify’s AI-powered app and browser extension make it easy for users to listen to emails, text documents, e-books, PDFs, online blogs, and articles in a variety of voices, languages, and speeds.
Text-to-speech technology has been fraught with performance issues for a long time, though in recent years this has begun to change for the better. Products like Amazon Polly, Linguatech Voice Reader, and Natural Reader have made real inroads on this front. What may set Speechify apart, however, is the insight of founder Cliff Weitzman, who built the app to help people with dyslexia, ADHD, vision impairments and other learning difficulties.
The company’s future growth may depend largely on who it targets and how it does so. Thus far it’s been mostly branded as a learning assistant, lauded by parents, teachers and adult users with reading disabilities. This niche approach is interesting and offers a potentially large market in the education sector. However, the technology also has mainstream appeal, with the potential to be branded as a productivity booster or multi-tasking assistant.
